Monk's shrink Dr. Kroger (Stanley Kamel) is having trouble with his son Tony (Cody McMains), who has been hanging out with the wrong crowd. Thus, when Tony and two of his friends approach Monk with a treasure map which they claim is part of a school project, Monk (Tony Shalhoub) agrees to help them go treasure-hunting, thinking that this is a swell way to keep the boy out of trouble. What Monk doesn't know is that the kids stole the map from the body of a dead man--and that the decedent had been involved in a bank robbery. Before the final fadeout, Monk's well-meaning efforts to straighten Tony out have resulted in a perilous predicament wherein the notoriously claustrophobic detective is buried alive. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
A moonlit encounter with an urban legend sends the life of an unassuming high school kid spinning out of control. Seventeen year old Jeff Pryce (Kevin G. Schmidt) was driving down a winding country road when he nearly ran over a mysterious beauty walking alone by Resurrection Cemetery. After stopping to see if the girl is injured, Jeff learns that her name is Mary and agrees to give her a ride, all the while sensing a powerful mutual attraction. Later, when Jeff asks Mary to be his date for the Homecoming Dance, his friends begin falling prey to a mysterious killer. The police believe Jeff is the murderer, and if he fails to clear his name soon he could be in a world of trouble. The only person with any real insight into Mary is Jeff's grandmother (Sally Kirkland), though while the information she provides may clear her grandson of any wrongdoing, it will also set him on a frightening collision course with forces far beyond his understanding. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

The feature debut from writer/director Jess Manafort, this bittersweet teen comedy centers on a group of kids on the last day of school in 1999. With an ensemble cast featuring Lyndsy Fonseca, Amber Heard, and Alexa Vega, the film follows several students as they relish the advent of summer vacation and struggle with drugs, sex, and the unpredictability of the future before them. Directed by Mike Mitchell, Surviving Christmas finds Drew Latham (Ben Affleck) uneager to spend another lonely Christmas in his own home. Longing for holidays past, Drew travels to his childhood home intending to relive the experience of a family Christmas -- unfortunately, his family no longer lives there. This represents only a small snafu to Drew, who offers the Valco patriarch and his wife (Sopranos star James Gandolfini and Catherine O'Hara) a huge amount of money if they consent to pretend they are his parents and that he is a cherished member of the family. This entails participating in Latham family traditions, such as Christmas tree selection and crowded holiday shopping excursions. Though the Valcos reluctantly go along with Drew's requests, Alicia, their eldest daughter, arrives at home and refuses to comply with her "brother's" wishes. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide

Thirteen-year-old Jenna (Shana Dowdeswell) has had enough with the trials of adolescence. In addition to being saddled with a devoted-but-nerdy best friend, Matt (Sean Marquette), she falls victim to one of the dangers of playing Seven Minutes in Heaven with the coolest kids in school: being stranded without a willing make-out partner. Humiliated, Jenna buries herself in the aformentioned make-out closet, wishing she could skip the whole adolescence bit and move straight into adulthood, and miraculously wakes just weeks away from her 30th birthday. Of course, a lot has changed since going to bed the night before, not the least of which being an impressive set of womanly curves. The new, older Jenna (Jennifer Garner) is a successful magazine editor with friends in high places and a lion's share of potential suitors -- including a hockey-playing boyfriend and a swarthy married man. The problem is that her mind hasn't matured with her body; Jenna not only finds living on her own more terrifying than cool, but is quick to dismiss any male over the age of 14 as "gross." Half excited, half mortified, Jenna seeks out Matt (Mark Ruffalo), whom she learns she had spurned as a teenager in an effort to join the popular crowd. Gary Winick directed, from a script by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa; Gina Matthews produced. The made-for-cable biopic Full Court Miracle is the true story of Lamont Carr, here played by Richard T. Jones. A college basketball star, Lamont seems to be a shoo-in for the Philadelpha 76ers until he is permanently sidelined by a knee injury. Seeking out employment in his chosen profession, Lamont is invited to be head coach of the Philadelphia Hebrew Academy Lions, a Yeshiva team captained by Alex Schlotsky (Alex D. Linz). Despite the obvious cultural schism between the African-American Carr and his Jewish players, Jason is determined to pull the Lions out of the cellar and lead them to victory at the Liberty Basketball Tournament -- and as part of his strategy, he invokes the heroic example of Judah and the Maccabees. First telecast on the Disney Channel, Full Court Miracle was originally shown on November 21, 2003 -- coincidentally during Hanukkah week. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

When teenage volleyball champion Amy Cozzi (Amanda Barfield) is diagnosed with diabetes, the news is especially tough on her paretns Toni (Robin Bartlett) and Paul (Ray Abruzzo), who are preparing to open a new pizza parlor where Monica (Roma Downey) and Andrew (John Dye) are currently employed. As it turns out, Toni is less upset over Amy's illness than by the fact that it will throw off her meticulously planned "timetable"; unable to trust her family to think or act for themselves, Toni has put everyone--including her husband--on a tight, unswerving schedule, with nary a second wasted.
