After considering several candidates, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) decides who will be her roommates during her first-year internship. Back on the job, she butts heads with a pediatric intern to save the life of a newborn child, and also claims temporary possession of a gruesome "souvenir" left behind by the man who raped her patient Allison (Alex Thayer). Meanwhile, Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Alex (Justin Chambers) get their act together, so to speak; George (T.R. Knight) spends a few disheartening hours with the Seattle Grace code team; and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) copes with a patient who speaks no English. A wealthy couple attempts to give back to their community by handing out giant lollipops to the local homeless population in the mockumentary-style directorial debut of The Office star Jenna Fischer. On the surface, James and Jenna (real-life husband and wife team James Gunn and Jenna Fischer) couldn't be more charitable, but a closer look at their newfound philanthropy points to a more self-serving motivation. Beneath their shallow veneer, all James and Jenna care about is using their preposterous new charity to mix in with the jet set and keep themselves in the public eye. As desperate James attempts to get his mediocre art to the masses by using it to wrap the lollipops and self-absorbed Jenna tries to land the funding needed to drive her outlandish endeavor, the would-be charitable couple's inherent inability to truly connect with those who they claim to be helping grows increasingly obvious to everyone except themselves. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

This low-budget horror-comedy deals with a young woman named Iris (Margaret Lancaster) who is obsessed with Elvis memorabilia. Iris is in desperate straits because her book proposal has been rejected and her landlord's perverted son is suggesting thoroughly unappealing ways to pay her overdue rent. One day, Iris meets Eddie Vincent (Paul Stevenson), who not only looks like Elvis, but promises her a way to escape her troubles. Eddie, it appears, is actually a vampire. Romantic and amusing, this independent effort from director Lee Bennett Sobel suffers a bit from its script, but is otherwise a cute and appealing trifle. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
