Hoping to get a promotion at the Kyoto National Bank (Chicago branch), Marcy (Amanda Bearse) invites the bank's owner, Mr. Shimokawa (Pat Morita of Karate Kid fame), to a traditional Japanese dinner. But Shimokawa will agree to the promotion only if he can get his hands on the "classic" Dodge owned by Marcy's mortal enemy Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill). Once he finds out how valuable his old heap has become, Al levies a series of very costly demands upon the hapless Marcy. Katey Sagal (Peggy) does not appear in this episode. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

When his recording of "Forever" becomes a huge hit in Japan, Jesse (John Stamos) embarks on an Asian tour. The ensuing adulation from the cheering fans would inflate anyone's ego--and Jesse, alas, is no exception. Back at home, Michelle (played by the Olsen twins) is convinced that she can "reconnect" with Jesse by bigging a hole in the ground; Kimmy (Andrea Barber) runs for class president with DJ (Candace Cameron) as her campaign manager; and Danny (Bob Saget) and Joey (David Coulier) begin arguing over the stupidest and most inconsequential of details. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
A man trying to help out his sister finds himself chin-deep in hot water in this screwball comedy. Yuppie businessman Bill Campbell (Matthew Broderick) is close to sealing a $140 million business deal when he gets a phone call from his little sister Marci (Courtney Peldon), who is convinced that her new stepfather, Peter Van Der Haven (Jeffrey Jones), the mayor of the city of Buzzsaw, California, is up to no good. Though understandably wary, Bill heads to Buzzsaw, where he promptly loses his paperwork on the deal in progress and is confronted by the city's remarkable collection of eccentrics, including the crazed fugitive Sally (Heidi Kling), the subnormal Jim Jr. and Jim Sr. (John C. Reilly and Michael Monks), and Ann (Marian Mercer), the mayor's loopy wife. It turns out that Marci wasn't entirely wrong; year's ago, Peter's diabolical twin brother Matt (also played by Jones) was sent to jail in his brother's place on criminal charges, and now Matt has violent revenge on his mind. Out on a Limb features an original score by noted composer and arranger Van Dyke Parks. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

The leading lady of the Christmas tale knows just what she wants for Christmas and she lets Macy's Santa know, too. She wants nothing more than the reuniting of her recently divorced parents. Bordering on being a Miracle on 34th Street re-make, this film follows much the same theme, but the kids here get more involved as they thwart any likelihood of romantic success between their mom and her new boyfriend and try ever-so-hard to make Mommy and Daddy love each other again. A reunion does result, but it's a lackluster one and so's this film, which was generally seen as a little too contrived and way too bland. ~ Rovi
- Starring:
- Harley Jane Kozak, Jamey Sheridan, (more)
Miles O'Keeffe and Lou Ferrigno star as Vietnam war buddies who team up to rid their community of drugs. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
