One man's unguarded honesty threatens to destroy the longtime friendship between an aspiring screenwriter and a successful magazine editor in writer/director Russell Brown's blistering comedy about the high price of being truthful. Sam has written a screenplay. He believes the film he has dreamt up could be his ticket to the big time, but before anything else, he wants to get some feedback from his old friend David. David is a magazine editor who's currently at the top of his game. He doesn't think too much of Sam's screenplay, and his admission of this fact opens up a critical rift between the two longtime writers. A bisexual travel writer assigned the task of covering Napa Valley's most romantic hot spots invites an old college friend to join him on his quest, only to find their attraction blossoming into something much more complex in writer/director Russell Brown's look at fidelity, promiscuity, and sexual morality in the modern era. Nathan (Cole Williams) is an L.A.-based writer preparing to pen an article about the Napa Valley wine district. Recognizing that a trip to wine country is always more fun when you invite a friend along, Nathan contacts old college friend Maggie (Amber Benson), who readily agrees to join him on his trip. Though both Nathan and Maggie currently have boyfriends, their attraction to one another finds wine tasting taking a back seat to an affair that raises numerous questions as to the fragility of intimate relationships when love knows no gender. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Following up his critically acclaimed third film, 2001's The Sleepy Time Gal, filmmaker Christopher Munch helmed this dramedy about a pair of brothers who embark on a camping trip together. Harry (Bryce Johnson) is the eldest of the two, a 23-year-old former teen idol who has stopped off for the long-promised expedition while en route to a gig in Japan. Max (Cole Williams) is Harry's 16-year-old younger brother, a burgeoning pop star himself. As the siblings begin spending time together in seclusion, their cordialness erodes and strong feelings begin to come out, exposing old emotions that were never dealt with. Writer-director Hilary Brougher, during a four-week Super-16mm shoot, made her directorial debut with this low-budget time-travel tale about '50s journalist-novelist Tucker Harding (Terumi Matthews), author of The Sticky Fingers of Death. Transported from 1950 Brooklyn to the present, Tucker meets Drew (Nicole Zaray), who's just ended her relationship with used bookstore clerk Dex (Leo Marks). In the store, Drew stumbles across a copy of Tucker's novel and is intrigued to find, inside the book, a newspaper clipping describing Tucker's death 40 years earlier. Hilary Brougher describes this as "a story of two women, both New York area writers...entangled in non-linear time travel. There's virtually no special effects, so it's all in the head. The challenge is to make the audience believe that you're moving back and forth in time. And film, of course, lends itself to time travel."
