Thespian Jordan Garrett debuted onscreen as a child actor in the early 2000s with a series of projects that incorporated family-oriented and more mature fare. Part vigilante drama and part psychological thriller, the James Wan-directed Death Sentence stars Kevin Bacon as Nick Hume, a deceptively passive exec whose wife and children are attacked in a sadistic, gang-related hazing rite, and his oldest son killed. Hell-bent on cold-blooded vengeance, Hume pulls a Bronson by tagging each of the perpetrators, then tracking down and rubbing out each one, with the help of formidable, blue-steel artillery. Aisha Tyler co-stars as the homicide detective who first agrees to assist Hume in his mission, then begins to edge up to the conclusion that the unstable father himself might be responsible for the nasty crimes against his family. Kelly Preston co-stars as Bacon's wife, Helen Hume; the cast also features John Goodman (The Big Lebowski), Leigh Whannell (Saw), and Matt O'Leary. The third and final entry into the popular series of Shiloh films, based on the writings of author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor and detailing the captivating journeys of a young boy and his loyal canine companion, find a maturing Marty standing by his troubled neighbor Judd during the drunken townie's most desperate hour. A local man has gone missing, and when authorities find out that he was last seen fighting with Judd, who is already suspected in a series of thefts, they are quick to finger Marty's neighbor as the prime suspect in the unsolved mystery. The directorial debut from Jason Reitman, the media satire Thank You for Smoking stars Aaron Eckhart as Nick, a man who has turned spinning news and information into a successful career for the tobacco lobby. He plots strategies with his colleagues (Maria Bello and David Koechner) on how to make other dangerous products more appealing to the American public. Nick ends up going to Hollywood with his young son (Cameron Bright) in order to get a movie producer to include characters smoking in his newest film. Nick is kidnapped by a vigilante group concerned about the harmful nature of his product. The cast includes William H. Macy as a Senator who runs on a strong anti-tobacco position, Rob Lowe as the Hollywood bigwig, and Robert Duvall as the king of the tobacco industry. Detectives Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) investigate when the five-year-old son of prominent psychiatrist Brett Morton (Kyle MacLachlan) vanishes from a toy store. Though the most obvious suspect would seem to be the convicted child molester seen hanging around the store just before the boy's disappearance, the trail of clues ultimately leads to the victim's 13-year-old neighbor Jake O'Hara (Jordan Garrett). Despite his youth, Jake proves to be a cunning sociopath, adept at manipulating the detectives and leading them down several wrong paths. American independent filmmaker Jane Weinstock makes her feature debut with the romantic comedy Easy, shot on digital video. Marguerite Moreau plays Jamie, a single gal living in Los Angeles who makes a living by giving creative names to consumer products. Although she's adept at catching men for her own pleasure, she decides to give up sex for 90 days. The decision is supported by her stoner friend, Martin (D.B. Woodside), and her married sister, Laura (Emily Deschanel). However, some handsome fellows -- poet John (Naveen Andrews) and talk show host Mick (Brian F. O'Byrne) -- cause her to rethink her plan.
