Adapted from the short story by Philip K. Dick (which incidentally marks the legendary science-fiction scribe's sole foray into fantasy), this animated adventure tells the tale of a Mississippi Delta man who reluctantly agrees to help a desperate band of elves. A horrible troll is killing off all of the elves, and their only hope of defeating the monster is to seek help from a human. When a simple man from the Mississippi Delta agrees to help prevent the pixies from being rendered extinct, his fearlessness and bravery inspires them to name him the King of the Elves. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Three sorority pledges attempt to win membership in the most exclusive Greek society on campus by telling the most terrifying stories they can possible dream up. In the first tale, entitled "Dollface," a woman becomes convinced that an antique doll given to her by her boyfriend is out for blood. The shocks continue in "Crimson Echo," which follows a fallen Hollywood starlet on her trip to make a low-budget horror film in Central Europe. Once there, the former A-lister realizes that she is about to take part in a horrifying initiation rite. Later, after three mischievous girls incur the wrath of serial killer in "Prank Call," it begins to appear as if someone in the sorority house has taken all of these tales of murder and mayhem to heart. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

In the Disney-animated adventure Brother Bear, Joaquin Phoenix provides the voice of Kenai, a young Native American boy whose brother, Sitka (voice of D.B. Sweeney), is killed by a mother bear protecting her cubs. With revenge in mind, Kenai sets out into the woods only to find himself magically transformed into a bear himself. Seeing the world through the eyes of his prey, Kenai is forced to learn a lesson about nature and life. On a comic footnote: Brother Bear also features the voices of Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as Rutt and Tuke, moose characters reminiscent of their beer-guzzling McKenzie brothers from SCTV and Strange Brew; because this is a family-oriented cartoon - and it would be inappropriate for the moose to quaff beer -- the two moose express a fondness for eating wheat hops instead. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

Patrick Macnee, Daniel Roebuck, and William Sanderson headline this kitschy sci-fi yarn about a trip through time gone horribly awry. A scheming professor is convinced that he can save mankind by traveling into the future, but in order to accomplish his benevolent mission he'll need some serious help. After convincing a group of down-and-out astronauts to take the trip, the professor and his trusty gorilla sidekick prepare to launch themselves into the future. But the Earth of the future bears little resemblance to the planet of the present, because in the future mankind has fallen victim to a cosmic plague, and a beautiful race of space babes reign with brutal authority. Add a horrible monster and an army of mutants into the mix, and it begins to appear that the professor's noble mission was doomed to failure all along. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

No one would have guessed that Mrs. Albright, the seemingly sweet, elderly proprietor of a New England boarding home, was actually a demon hiding beneath a facade of stitched-on human skin. Her mission, capturing boarders and imprisoning their souls within a book of paper dolls, seems impossible to stop. Stitches is directed by Neal Stevens, who co-wrote the screenplay for 2001's Thirteen Ghosts, and features Elizabeth Ince, Debra Mayer, and Lindy Bryant. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide
