Jamie Oliver Movies
Known to millions as the "Naked Chef," TV personality and chef Jamie Oliver began his culinary career by helping his parents cook in the kitchen of their family-owned pub and restaurant in Clavering, England. His talents developed and, in time, he enrolled in Westminster Catering College; after graduation he studied in France before returning to the U.K. to work as head pastry chef in the renowned Neal Street Restaurant. He then went on to work for Rose Gray and Ruth Rogers at the River Café, where he says he learned to create the fresh dishes that would become a staple of his repertoire. It was there that he was discovered by a TV producer, who felt sure that Oliver's natural charisma and talents in the kitchen would make him an ideal candidate for television. He made his debut on The Naked Chef, which ran in 1998 and 1999. Immensely popular, Oliver would continue to star in a string of cooking shows such as Oliver's Twist and Jamie's Kitchen, each showcasing his techniques in a new light. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie GuideAmong the TV luminaries rushing to fill the creative chasm opened by the Hollywood writers' strike of 2008 was Oprah Winfrey, whose contribution to the cause was the weekly reality series Oprah's Big Give. Each episode featured ten contestants who, after being divided into teams, were handed huge amounts of money and resources. Their mission was to use their newly acquired riches exclusively to benefit other people, via charity, social-service programs and other "good works." The contestants travelled throughout the country to share their wealth, sometimes assisted by celebrities. There was also one "big twist" per episode, designed to test the generosity and stamina of the contestants to the utmost. A panel of judges consisting of master chef Jamie Oliver, charity organizer Malaak Compton-Rock (the wife of comedian Chris Rock) and NFL star Tony Gonzalez), would determine the winner, or "Biggest Giver", of the competition, whereupon the winner would have his or her fondest wish granted--with a surprise cash award thrown in the bargain. Coproduced by Bertram Van Munster of Amazing Race fame, Oprah's Big Give debuted March 2, 2008 in the Sunday-night ABCtimeslot normally reserved for Desperate Housewives. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Jamie Oliver, internationally popular star of such cooking shows as The Naked Chef and Oliver's Twist, unabashedly blew his own horn on this five-part series, first seen in the U.K. in 2002. In course of the series, Oliver trained 15 young, unemployed Londoners to work as chefs in his own new East End restaurant, Fifteen. In other words, the series was essentially a commercial for the ebullient Mr. Oliver's latest business enterprise. Debuting in America over the Food Network on October 13, 2003, Jamie's Kitchen followed up its brief run with a marathon showing of all five installments on October 19. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Jamie Oliver of The Naked Chef fame was the star of this London-based cooking show. In keeping with the outrageousness of his previous TV efforts, celebrated gourmand Oliver pulled out all the stops in his newest endeavor, opening the program by inviting three sexy girls into his kitchen for a "cooking lesson" (wink-wink, nudge-nudge). Later episodes found Oliver trading food tips, insults, and single entendres with a number of British and American celebrities. Oliver's Twist was seen in the U.S. courtesy of the Food Network beginning May 14, 2002. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
