It's the ladies to the rescue in the low-budget actioner Angel's Brigade. Wearing form-fitting fatigues, the female stars play a team of highly trained avengers. Their mission: to wipe every drug dealer off the face of the earth. To accomplish this, they drive around in a custom-built van, decked out with the latest in high-tech weaponry. You've never heard of any of the leading ladies in Angel's Brigade, but the supporting cast is overloaded with such pop-culture celebs as Jack Palance, Peter Lawford, Jim Backus, Neville Brand, Pat Buttram, Alan Hale Jr, and Arthur Godfrey. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The House of Death is bland, early-'80s slasher fare featuring a gallery of obnoxious, over-sexed teens (the kind who think cemeteries are a real turn-on) who are pursued and systematically disembowelled by the standard faceless, black-clad psychopath. The killer's weapon of choice here is the garden-variety machete, which he puts to prodigious use on many nubile nymphettes (former Playboy Playmate of the year Susan Kiger among them) in the sleepy Southern town of Shelby, NC. Though plentiful, the killings are neither original nor convincing (with the exception of a two-for-one decapitation special), and the film's production values are virtually nonexistent. This film was also released to home video as Night Screams and Death Screams. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide

The notorious madam Xaviera Hollander travels to Tinseltown to film her illustrious autobiography in this comedy. The trouble begins when she encounters a few crooked producers looking to exploit her. Look for a variety of second-string and cult stars including Martine Beswick, Dick Miller, and Adam West. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

This low-budget sci-fi parody pokes fun at such "space operas" as Star Wars and Alien as it chronicles the adventures of the starship Infinity where poor Captain Cornelius Butt finds himself playing "mommy" to a baby alien while handsome crewman Thor falls in love with the beautiful robot pilot Galaxina and tries to turn her into a real woman. The film is best known for being the last screen appearance of rising-starlet Dorothy Stratten, the beautiful 20-year-old Playboy model who was brutally murdered by her estranged husband shortly after this film premiered. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

A standard, mindless teen comedy that is patently geared toward the pre-teen set, H.O.T.S. involves a lot of bouncy females, in this case, sisters in the H.O.T.S. sorority, in hot-blooded competition with the women in another mythical sorority on campus. The objective seems to be to show as many cruel practical jokes, lame-brain jocks, non-stop action, wild orgies, and exaggerated characters as can fit into a 95-minute running time. Added to the pile are the requisite idiot adults who are never able to see what is going on around them, and it becomes apparent (if it was not from the beginning), which age group is meant to be the target audience here. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

Cycle-flick veteran William Smith stars as the head of a highly trained US intelligence team, each with the requisite invaluable "special talent." Headquartered in Hawaii, the team aims its sights on a powerful crime syndicate. Since the syndicate's henchmen are all martial arts experts, a combination of brawn and brains will be required throughout. The title alludes to the seven mobsters who must be wiped out by Smith & company in order to collect their $7 million reward. One gag in Seven was later appropriated (unconsciously or otherwise) by Raiders of the Lost Ark. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The bottom-drawer science fiction cheapie was originally released as The Return. In a dusty New Mexico town, two children and an old man witness the arrival (via poor special effects) of an alien spacecraft. The phenomenon has such a profound effect on the lives of the witnesses that they anxiously await the return of the extraterrestrials--whom, it is suggested, have visited here several times before. When the big-name cast (Jan-Michael Vincent, Cybill Shepherd, Martin Landau, Raymond Burr and Neville Brand) failed to sucker customers into seeing The Return, the film was repackaged as The Alien's Return. If we are indeed visited by aliens someday, one hopes they aren't as dull as the creatures in this sorry little film. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this action-packed drama, a beautiful singer decides to put her career on hold when her younger brother, who had a problem with drugs, is severely beaten by a gang of dope dealers. She assembles a group of seven beautiful crime fighters, and they hit the road in their customized van looking for an opportunity to break open the drug ring run by Farrell (Jack Palance) and Burke (Peter Lawford). The inarguably remarkable supporting cast includes Alan Hale Jr., Pat Buttram, Jim Backus, Neville Brand and Arthur Godfrey. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
