It looks like attempted suicide when a woman named Hannah (Jayma Mays) swallows an entire bottle of sleeping pills. But appearances are deceiving as usual: Hannah has been awake for eight days straight, and all she wants is a little sleep. Unfotunately, the poor woman will die of acute insomnia unless House (Hugh Laurie) can persuade Hannah's partner Max (Dahlia Salmen) to make a most unusual sacrifice. Meanwhile, House himself has been suffering from sleep deprivation ever since Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) moved in. Elsewhere, a language breakdown results in a Chinese woman being given birth control pills for a head cold; and Cameron (Jennifer Coleman) is outraged when Foreman (Omar Epps) swipes her ideas for a medical-journal article--apparently with House's full blessing! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Felicity Huffman makes her first series appearance as Julia Wilcox, KACL's new financial analyst. The abrasive, condescending Julia rubs everyone the wrong way, but Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) -- who can be pretty abrasive and condescending himself -- believes she's merely insecure. He extends the hand of friendship, only to have the nasty Julia nearly bite it off. Thus spruned, Frasier expresses his outrage to everyone -- which merely confirms their belief that he had a crush on Julia. The situation culminates with threats of a harrassment suit and a remarkable revelation. ~ Rovi
