Borat trickster Sacha Baron Cohen returns to the big screen to offer yet another stinging dose of sociopolitical satire in this comedy that finds him assuming the persona of gay fashionmonger Bruno, the self-proclaimed "voice of Austrian youth TV." Originally conceived as part of Baron Cohen's cult television series Da Ali G Show, the character of Bruno offered a cleverly costumed Baron Cohen the opportunity to highlight the absurdities of the fashion industry by interviewing unsuspecting fashion icons and other haute couture hangers-on. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Drawing its title from a twist on an old journalistic adage, Dog Bites Man is a Comedy Central sitcom staged and filmed in "mockumentary" fashion. The series is set in the newsroom of fictional Seattle TV station KBHX-TV. Andrea Savage stars as Tillie Sullivan, a former KBHX intern who has returned to the station as the news producer -- and as primary nemesis of preening anchorman Kevin Beekin (Matt Walsh), with whom Tillie once had a one-night stand back in the day. The rest of the KBHX news team includes reckless cameraman Alan Finger (Zach Galifianakis) and production assistant Marty Shonson (A.D. Miles), who acts as Kevin's co-conspirator in the anchor's neverending schemes to arouse Tillie's jealousy. As in Reno 911!, the cast of Dog Bites Man is followed everywhere by unseen cameras as they go about their professional duties. Unlike Reno 911!, which is entirely fictional, the Dog Bites Man crew has a habit of showing up in the midst of actual news stories, and its members conduct genuine interviews with "civilians," many of whom are obviously not in on the joke! Dog Bites Man began its weekly, half-hour run on June 6, 2006. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Master of disguise Sacha Baron Cohen hits the road to explore America as the crude Kazakstani reporter Borat in a feature mockumentary that brings one of the Da Ali G Show star's most popular characters to life on the big screen. Sent by the Kazakh Ministry of Information to gain a better understanding of American culture and bring his findings back home, Borat and faithful producer Azamat (Ken Davitian) set their sights in New York City. When the citizens and interview subjects of the Big Apple seem less than receptive to Borat's distinctively unrestrained approach and the curious Kazakh television personality stumbles across an episode of Baywatch while channel-surfing in his hotel room, he becomes instantly smitten with screen siren Pamela Anderson. Now confident that the only way to discover the true essence of America is to travel to California and make the bikini-clad beauty his bride, Borat purchases a ramshackle ice-cream truck in which he and Azamat will make their way across the Great Plains and on to the sunny West Coast -- all the while coming into contact with a wide variety of "typical" Americans. Within this loose, scripted framework, Borat engages in his usual misbehavior with unsuspecting strangers, from accidentally releasing a chicken from his suitcase on a New York subway ride to a formal interview with Alan Keyes. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The first of season two's six episodes is "Respek," in which Ali G interviews ABC News' "boss man" Sam Donaldson and former LAPD chief Daryl Gates. The second episode, "Rekognize," invokes memories of the first season's notorious Newt Gingrich interview as Ali G raps with Pat Buchanan; meanwhile, the clueless Borat hits the campaign trail during an election in the Deep South. Then there's "Peace," wherein Ali G finds time to promote his own novels (including a book version of the Lord of the Rings movies!) while interviewing U.S. Olympic president John Nabor, as Borat receives artistic inspiration from Porter Wagoner. In "Realize," New Jersey governor Christine Todd Whitman figures into Ali G's probe of security precautions. "Jah" begins as Ali G visits Mount Vernon (and bemoans the fact that George Washington isn't home) and has fascinating conversations with author Gore Vidal and sex educator Sally Epstein. The season concludes with "Realness," with Ali G soliciting advice and counsel from Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus author John Grey, economics specialist Charles Schultze, and professional curmudgeon Andy Rooney, while Bruno learns all about collegiate wrestling (all those muscular guys), and Borat goes job-hunting. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Improvisational comedian Sacha Baron Cohen brings his hit British TV series Da Ali G Show to America's HBO in a full season of irreverent interviews and zany special features, with Cohen assuming the characters of malaprop-spouting "hip-hop" journalist and aspiring rapper Ali G; Borat, a TV reporter from Kazakhstan who naïvely takes everything at face values; and Bruno, a gay "fashionista" from Austria. Season one of HBO's Da Ali G Show begins with the episode "Law," in which Ali G tries out for the Philadelphia Police Department and interviews former U.S. attorney general Dick Thornberg, Borat tackles the topic of dating etiquette and Bruno launches the first of several in-depth looks at New York's "Fashion Week." The next episode, "War," features Ali G's wide-eyed tour of the United Nations and a chat with onetime UN secretary general Boutros Boutros-Gali. Next up is "Politics," featuring the now-infamous Newt Gingrich interview (rumors persist that Gingrich was unaware that Ali G was a put-on) and Borat's clueless discourse on the American gun culture. "Art" finds Ali G chewing the fat with Inside the Actor's Studio's James Lipton and ex-astronaut Buzz Aldrin. The guests on "Science" include C. Everett Koop and Ralph Nader, with the added attraction of a sentimental stopover at a Nevada nuclear testing sight. And in "Belief," Borat braves the wilds of "The New South" and Ali G pitches a series idea to a group of network execs -- while still managing to spend quality time with interviewees James Baker and Marlin Fitzwater. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Britain's satirist-of-all-trades Ali G (aka Sacha Baron Cohen) makes his feature-film debut with this gross-out comedy set against the backdrop of the House of Parliament. Where his British and U.S. TV shows had him conducting absurd interviews with real-life politicians and lawmakers, Ali G Indahouse casts him against Charles Dance as Carlton, an unscrupulous member of the House who's intent on upsetting the current Prime Minister (Michael Gambon) in the next election. Hoping to attract negative attention to the leader, Ali G is promoted as a running mate of sorts -- a tactic that backfires in Carlton's face as the clueless rapper quickly ascends the political ladder. ~ Michael Hastings, Rovi
