Philip Winchester Movies
A native of Belgrade, MT, actor Philip Winchester culled professional inspiration from his father, who took acting courses at Montana State University and whom young Philip would often watch from backstage. Winchester similarly found his roots on the stage; though he officially debuted onscreen in his teenage years, opposite Steven Seagal in the 1998 action yarn The Patriot, his true passion and gifts lay in theater, and he had his future virtually cut out for him. With marvelous dramatic instincts, he both applied and was accepted to the exclusive London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in Great Britain. The young thespian then wowed critics with astonishing portrayals in such productions as The Master and Margarita, Blood Wedding, and The Crucible before moving onto an exciting (if slightly less classicist) film career with supporting roles in such productions as the family-oriented sci-fi yarn Thunderbirds (2004) (a live-action cinematization of the puppet show series from Britain) and the World War I-era period adventure Flyboys (2006). A nomadic 16th century warrior, condemned to hell for his brutal past, seeks redemption by renouncing violence, but finds some things are worth burning for as he fights to free a young Puritan woman from the grip of evil. Howard, the film opens to find Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) and his ruthless band of marauders laying siege to a city in Northern Africa. Beckoned to an enigmatic castle filled with untold riches, Kane soon realizes that his greed has sealed his fate when the Devil's minions decimate his ranks, leaving him alone to battle the infernal Reaper (Ian Whyte) that has come to claim his tainted soul. But Kane cheats death, and upon escaping, learns that his only hope to avoid being cast into the lake of fire is to walk the path of peace. Meanwhile, as Kane makes his way across England, the sinister Overlord (Samuel Roukin) uses his ruthless Raiders to seize control of the country, killing for pleasure and striking terror into the hearts of peaceful Puritans like the Crowthorns -- who generously offered Kane food and shelter on his arduous journey. A young man fears that he may be the architect of his own destruction in this mind-bending thriller from director Allen Wolf. He learns that he actually suffers from a rare disorder known as parasomnia, which causes him to engage in bizarre behavior during his sleep that he cannot remember the next day. His life takes a rather grisly turn when he wakes up one morning covered in blood, with a knife at his side -- and then learns that his best friend's wife was just stabbed to death. Uncertain if he might have done this himself to cover up a long-buried secret between himself and the victim, or if someone is setting him up as the fall guy in a murder plot, Marcus vows to track his own after-dark activities.
