When advertising exec Phil Winslow (Lee Pace) gets an offer to head the account for a California-based dog-food company, he uproots his wife (($Judy Greer), three kids, and their beloved Great Dane, Marmaduke (voiced by Owen Wilson), from Kansas to the Sunshine State. Once there, the big canine befriends a group of mutts at the local dog park, but after a surfing competition brings Marmaduke celebrity, he turns his back on his new pals. Eventually, a disaster helps the oversized hound and Phil learn about the importance of family and friendship. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

The obsessions of two disturbed people cross paths in this thriller, created with the interactivity of the DVD format in mind. Jane (Stephanie Von Pfetten) is a beautiful but neurotic artist who keeps her distance from others, preferring to deal with the outside world through her work. When Jane moves to a new city, she finds herself becoming increasingly obsessed with Frank (Chris Bradford), a handsome musician who's apartment is across the alley from her loft. Jane begins creating increasingly sexual paintings and drawings of Peter and herself, and in time decides she should meet him. However, an attempt to arrange a date through personal ads puts Jane in contact with Peter (Paul Jarrett), a strange man with an unpleasant past. However, police detective Edwards (Christopher Shyer) has his eye on Jane as well, since it seems her own past is significantly more troubling than she lets on. Director David Wheeler created the DVD edition of Point of View to explore the interactive possibilities of the format. Each chapter ends with a quiz that allows the moods and attitudes of the viewer to shape the story and a number of plot points can be shifted by inputting different information, and, as a result, a great number of different versions of the film can be assembled by the viewer. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

It is not merely jealousy that prompts psychology major Darcy Canfield (Rena Sofer) to mistrust her widowed father Derek's new bride Joan (Linda Evans) and Joan's daughter Melinda (Bridgette Wilson). In fact, the audience is way ahead of Darcy: Joan is revealed early on to be a serial killer of wealthy husbands, who with the help of the equally sociopathic Melinda has bumped off a number of former mates for their money--and, of course, Dr. Derek Canfield (Alan Rachins) is loaded! This time, however, Joan falls in love with Derek and drops her plans to bump him off. Not so Melinda, who now takes it upon herself to eliminate not only her stepdad but also her own mother. In the end, it falls to Darcy to use her college-honed psych kills in a desperate effort to expose Melinda before she can kill again! Capped by one of those endings which suggests that "it ain't over till it's over", the made-for-cable The Stepsister was first broadcast May 7, 1997 by the USA network. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
