Ryan Malgarini Movies
Ryan Malgarini grew up in Las Vegas under the guardianship of his grandparents and expressed an interest in a professional acting career from the age of five, when he witnessed his grandmother's involvement in a nationally broadcast television spot. After appearing opposite her (and the late
Lou Rawls) in a commercial, and then essaying similar assignments on television spots for McDonald's and Washington Mutual Savings Bank,
Malgarini secured Los Angeles-area representation as a child actor. He took one of his earliest onscreen bows with a small role opposite
Kevin Spacey and
Lena Olin in the grim psychological drama
The United States of Leland (2002), then landed turns in the family-oriented outings
Freaky Friday (2003) (as the son of
Jamie Lee Curtis and the brother of
Lindsay Lohan) and
How to Eat Fried Worms (2006). In 2008, he signed on to play Tom Barns, the socially backward 14-year-old son of
Jay Mohr and
Paula Marshall, on the sitcom
Gary Unmarried. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
