A very special student deals with exams, first love, and national security issues in this teen-oriented romantic comedy-drama. Samantha MacKenzie (Katie Holmes) is a seemingly ordinary college freshman with one important exception -- her father happens to be the President of the United States (Michael Keaton). Samantha, however, would prefer to be as inconspicuous as possible as she begins her studies at Redmond University, so she asks a favor of her father -- remove the two Secret Service agents who follow her everywhere, and allow her to fend for herself at school. The president agrees, but out of concern for her safety, he sends in a young undercover agent, James (Marc Blucas), who will pose as the Resident Advisor at her dorm to keep an eye on her. Samantha and James strike up a fast friendship that grows into a romance, but when Samantha discovers the truth about James, she wonders if his love for her is real or just part of his cover. A lesbian epic on the high seas, Girl King is a gender-bent tale of swashbuckling pirates, hidden treasure, and the difference between tops and bottoms. The story opens as Butch, a baby butch of relative innocence, and his true love, Claudia, are imprisoned by the wrathful Queen, whose king has left her, and, adding insult to injury, has stolen her treasure. The Queen believes that Butch is just the man to win her treasure back, and dispatches the young top to search high and low for the treasure, the return of which will allow Butch to be reunited with Claudia. Claudia, however, isn't content to play prisoner, and escapes, disguised in leather drag, to follow Butch -- also in disguise as a male pirate -- on his quest for the treasure. Max (Jessica Alba) unexpectedly gets in touch with her "kinder, gentler" side when she agrees to accompany Logan (Michael Weatherly) to a Cale family wedding. Meanwhile, Max's friends are at the mercy of a hostile art smuggler named Duvalier (Master P), who intends to get revenge for a mix-up at the Jam Pony in which a stolen painting was delivered to the wrong place.
