Boy meets girl who's already met all sorts of boys and girls in this teen-slanted comedy. Matthew Kidman (Emile Hirsch) is a straight-laced and highly ambitious high school student who plans to study at Georgetown University and dreams of a career in politics. While most of his classmates are in the throes of an epidemic of senioritis, Matthew is obsessed with schoolwork and has a hard time relaxing and having fun. But he finds himself a bit less focused on his future career when Danielle (Elisha Cuthbert), a beautiful 19-year-old blonde, moves in next door. Danielle is playful, spontaneous, and doesn't always remember to draw her shades, and before long Matthew is head over heels in love. Danielle soon finds herself taken with Matthew as well, but their relationship takes an unusual turn when he discovers that, before she moved to town, Danielle had a successful career as a porn actress. Matthew is able to convince Danielle that she's cut out for better things in life than appearing in porn videos, but his advice doesn't especially please Kelly (Timothy Olyphant) or Hugo (James Remar), two porn moguls who figure Matthew owes them big-time after convincing their leading lady to drop out of the adult industry. The Girl Next Door -- which, appropriately enough, shares its title with a 1999 documentary about adult film superstar Stacy Valentine -- also features Timothy Bottoms, Paul Dano, and Chris Marquette. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

After the Rampart emergency team subdues a wild bear on a movie set, film star Vic Webster (played by Batman's Adam West) invites the firemen, paramedics and doctors to a lavish Hollywood party. But the crew barely has time to soak in all the glamour when another, more serious crisis occurs. Back at the hospital, Dr. Brackett (Robert Fuller) focuses his energies on a trichinosis victim. And in the field, a man threatens to blow himself up during a shootout with the cops. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The F.B.I. inagurates its ninth season (originally telecast in a 7:30PM Sunday timeslot, one half-hour earlier than its traditional 8 PM berth) with an all-points-bulletin manhunt for three clever ex-cons. The crooks have pulled off a $4,000,000 heist at an armored car firm, leaving Inspector Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) eating their dust. The only clues Erskine has to work on are eyewitness accounts of a blue pickup truck (a Ford, of course!) and a tiny sample of type-B blood. This episode marks the first appearance of Shelly Novack as Special FBI agent Chris Daniels. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The final episode of The Untouchables revolves around Roy Dahlgren (Jeremy Slate), a crazed WW1 veteran. Elliot Ness (Robert Stack) would like to know why all of the top gangsters in Chicago are leaving town in droves. The reason? The crooks want to establish an alibi when Ness is rubbed out. Mob boss Danny Mundt has offered $10,000 to anyone willing to kill Ness. The deranged Dahlgren accepts the assignment, preparing to finish the Fed off with his weapon of choice--a hand grenade. The climax finds a temporarily blinded Elliot Ness approaching a showdown with Dahlgren, who may or may not have one grenade left. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
