Directed by Joe Camp, Benji: Off the Leash! follows the plight of three underdogs: Benji, who is literally a dog; the funny but none-too-bright Sheldon; and Colby, a 14-year-old facing some real problems. The unlikely trio is brought together by the nefarious efforts of an ill-intentioned puppy breeder who wants to use Benji's mother in an irresponsible backyard puppy mill. The film serves as a prequel of sorts to the Benji franchise, and features Chris Kendrick, Nick Whitaker, Duane Stephens, Randall Newsome, and, of course, Benji the Dog. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide

17-year-old Sarah Dardenne (Krystal Harris), lead singer of the girl group "The Jane Factor", has never seen eye-to-eye with her father Richard (Geoff Pierson), a tradition-bound music teacher who regards Jane's music as pure garbage. It soon develops that Sarah and Richard have at least one thing in common: both are heavy smokers. Thus, when Sarah is diagnosed with throat cancer, her mother Paula (Ann Dowd) holds Richard entirely responsible, and it looks as if their marriage is finished. Tess (Della Reese) brings her fellow angels along on a visit to one of her former assignments, ebullient tavern owner Betty Poplovich (Debbie Reynolds). Before long, everyone on the premises--including Betty's partner Lew (Billy Barnes)--is conspiring to help a lonely lass named Zoe (Sarah Paulson) discover the true meaning of love.
