A twisted cremator and a teenage misfit strike up an unusual relationship in this independent thriller starring Brad Dourif. Fast approaching 60, Stan (Dourif) has few friends, and earns his living by offering budget cremation services out of his own home. But Stan has a dark secret; little do his neighbors realize, the outwardly frail recluse has taken to stuffing anyone he perceives to be a bully into the incinerator, and lately the fires have been burning particularly bright. Meanwhile, Stan finds a kindred soul in the form of Jarod (Jeremy Sumpter), a local adolescent from a broken family. For Jarod, getting pushed around is just another part of the daily routine - until he goes to work for Stan. Before long, Stan and Jarod are both working overtime to rid their small town of the rougher element. Determined to prove his devotion to Topanga (Danielle Fishel), Cory (Ben Savage) leaves Philadelphia and follows her all the way to Disneyworld in Florida. Unfortunately, Topanga jumps to the conclusion that Cory is actually interested in Kristen (Hilary Tuck), a girl who happens to be heading in the same direction. As directed by Gary Sherman, this thriller tells the story of a young girl who makes telephone calls to a man who she later finds out is a serial killer. Lisa (Stacy Keanan) is a 14-year-old girl whose mother Katherine (Cheryl Ladd), having been herself an unwed mother, forbids her to have dates until she is 16 years old. Katherine has raised Lisa alone and has a good business as a florist, but due to her own past trauma, never dates. Lisa retreats into a fantasy world and finds men, follows them, and begins making enticing telephone calls to them. Kevin Dobson and Michael Tucker play best friends and next-door neighbors whose relationship and lives are torn asunder by tragedy. Tucker's 5-year-old son (Bradley Michael Pierce) accidentally falls into Dobson's swimming pool and is drowned. Dobson is racked by guilt, while Tucker's moods swing from hostility to depression. Ultimately the men and their families are reunited by their shared memories of the lost boy.
