A quiet but disturbed young man puts the life of a woman he's obsessed with under a virtual microscope in this independent psychological thriller. Amy (Ana Claudia Talancón) is an attractive young woman who has recently broken up with her boyfriend and is feeling a bit lonely. Amy isn't so sure she's ready to start dating again, but she keeps bumping into Doug (Colin Hanks), a geeky but friendly guy who goes out of his way to be nice to her and seems to have very similar tastes and interests. Amy establishes a friendship with Doug even through he's awkward and not really her type, but Amy's best friend, Jennifer (Jordana Spiro), senses that there's something not quite right about Doug. And Jennifer is right -- Doug is a high-tech stalker who has wired Amy's apartment with a number of inexpensive security cameras and listening devices and constantly watches her, studying her tastes, her habits and her emotions as well as looking in as she sleeps and showers. Alone With Her is shot entirely from the perspective of Doug's cameras, so we see the film's events as he sees them, and are frequently made aware that each scene represents another invasion in Amy's privacy. Alone With Her received its world premiere at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Produced for cable's TBS superstation, the half-hour sitcom My Boys starred Jordana Spiro as Miss P.J. Franklin, a wisecracking, fun-loving sports columnist for the Chicago Sun Times. Though by her very nature as a female "jock" P.J. had plenty of male companionship, she really yearned for a lasting romance. Episodes focused on P.J.'s dealings with her ex-boyfriend Mike Callahan (Jamie Kaler), who worked for the Chicago Cubs organization and who had serious commitment issues (mainly, he couldn't make any!); her public-defender brother Andy (Jim Gaffigan),who frequently hung out at P.J.'s apartment to escape his strict, possessive spouse; her friend Kenny Moritorri (Michael Bunin), an anal-retentive trivia freak who ran a sports-memorabilia store and whose social life was next to nil; hard-rock radio DJ Brendan Dorff (Reid Scott), who invariably crashed at P.J.'s pad whenever he'd had a fight with his girlfriend; her best female friend Stephanie (Kellee Stewart), likewise a journalist and the series' obligatory "sounding board" for the heroine's problems; and her chief rival, Chicago Tribune sportswriter Bobby Newman (Kyle Howard). The action was divided between P.J.'s digs and everybody's favorite hangout, Crowley's Bar. Debuting November 28, 2006, My Boys was initially shown in tandem with TBS's reruns of the similarly-themed sitcom Sex and the City. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Premiering in 2006 on TBS, this comedy series takes its cues both from no-laugh-track-sitcoms like Scrubs and My Name Is Earl, and sophisticated comedy/dramas like Sex and the City. The show stars Jordana Spiro as PJ, a 30-something Chicago sports writer who navigates her sometimes complicated social, professional, and romantic lives with a group of good friends, almost all of whom are guys. Neither a shoe-obsessed girly-girl nor an ultra-butch tomboy, PJ's decidedly un-caricaturish personality earned the cable series immense critical acclaim. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi

A woman finds herself drafted into the battle of finding the perfect man in this romantic comedy. Sarah Nolan (Diane Lane) is a kindergarten teacher in her mid-thirties who is still dealing with the emotional aftermath of her divorce eight months ago. While her sisters, Christine (Ali Hillis) and Carol (Elizabeth Perkins), both think Sarah needs to start dating again, Sarah herself isn't so sure. Carol decides to force the issue by posting Sarah's photo and profile on an Internet dating site, and soon a number of seemingly eligible bachelors are sending her e-mails in hopes of a date. However, nearly every man she meets turns out to be a loser, with the exception of Jake (John Cusack), who is smart, good looking, and even brings along a dog for their walk in the park (though he doesn't tell her the pooch was borrowed for the occasion). However, Sarah also makes the acquaintance of Bob (Dermot Mulroney), the divorced father of one of her students, and she finds herself having to choose between two potentially worthwhile men. Meanwhile, Sarah's widowed father, Bill (Christopher Plummer), decides to give Internet dating a try, and lands himself a new steady in Dolly (Stockard Channing). Must Love Dogs is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Claire Cook. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

As if it weren't enough that frat guys drink too much, this episode of Buffy proves that they also worship the demon Machida. It begins when Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Angel (David Boreanaz) have an argument about where their relationship is going. Meanwhile, Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) gets invited to a frat party at the local college. Hoping to blow off some steam, Buffy decides to go along. Apparently, the frat guys have to sacrifice three teenage girls once a year to their demon lord. (The third girl is a student gone missing from another school earlier in the episode.) After being drugged and chained to a pool table in a musty, fake-wood-paneled basement -- in actuality, a dungeon -- all the girls can do is wait to be rescued. Luckily, Xander (Nicholas Brendon) is jealous over Cordelia's attraction to the frat guy and sneaks after them to keep an eye out. After the girls get loose and revoke Machida's fraternity charter, Buffy and Angel decide to give their love another try and go for coffee. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
