Inevitably recalling his earlier effort, the long-incomplete Downtown 81 (which was eventually finished and issued in 2001), Edo Bertoglio returns to the same subject with this documentary effort. The film, like its predecessor, leads viewers on a tour of the New York avant-garde scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Using archival footage and interviews with such individuals as Deborah Harry, Glenn O'Brien and Victor Bockris, Bertoglio conjures up a re-evocation of the said time and place, and draws on the vivid, colorful and anecdotal recollections of his participants - thus revealing how collective experiences helped shape and define a particular environment and atmosphere in a Manhattan that no longer exists. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

The development of a virtual reality fighting simulator was abruptly curtailed after a soldier lost his life during the testing process. Determined to see the finished product, Dr. MacIntyre (David Bradley), the scientest behind the machine, goes underground. Despite detective Justin Blake's (director Jalal Mehri) attempts to stop him, Dr. MacIntyre not only finishes the simulator, but makes a version even deadlier than the last.

Technology runs amuck when an elite squad of police cyborgs turn on their masters in director Richard Pepin's action-packed sci-fi thriller. The future is now, and in order to minimize human casualties on the dangerous city streets, scientists have created a team lifelike androids that have been specially trained to do man's dirty work. Nicknamed the T-Force, these unstoppable humanoids are frequently sent to capture criminals who wouldn't hesitate to kill a flesh-and-blood cop. When the T-Force goes too far and shoots down a terrorist helicopter with six hostages on board, officials quickly decide to pull the plug on the project. The only problem is, the T-Force doesn't want to be shut down, and they have programmed themselves into extreme self-preservation mode as a precautionary safety measure. A young Moroccan woman leaves her ramshackle native town to embark upon a dangerous mission to help better the circumstances of her people. Unfortunately, she ends up nearly trapped in a deadly web of political intrigue. The girl, Mouallem must travel to the US and deliver documents to a Moroccan-American journalist, Katrina, in Washington, D.C., proving that the decadent government has been abusing the common people. Unbeknownst to her, the wicked Moroccan ruler has sent an envoy there to find a suitable mansion. The crooked king is planning to leave his native country before it collapses. The envoy finds a perfect house that coincidentally, belongs to Katrina's lover, who is an important figure in manipulating world politics. The envoy also contacts an arms dealer who though knowing little about the Middle Eastern situation, eagerly makes deals with all comers. Meanwhile, Mouallem tires to contact the seemingly elusive Katrina, not knowing that she is being stalked by a mysterious photographer. Katrina, who is anxious to get Mouallem's information, has her own hands full trying to convince her editor to allow her to write an expose of the Moroccan political situation. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Jean-Claude Van Damme proves that two cracked heads are better than one in Double Impact. Van Damme plays twins Chad and Alex, who were separated at birth when their parents were brutally murdered by members of a Hong Kong criminal cartel. Incredibly both Chad and Alex have grown up to become world-class martial arts experts. Chad is a snobbish Californian karate instructor, while Alex is a cigar-smoking smuggler in Hong Kong. The two are brought back together by the family bodyguard Frank Avery (Geoffrey Lewis) to team up to avenge their parents' murder.
