When the demands of Christmas become too much to handle, one suburban mother responds by going on strike, and inspires the other overburdened mothers in her small community to follow suit. Joy Robertson (Daphne Zuniga) is the kind of mom who likes to make the Christmas season special. But this year, something is different. Joy has started to feel as if her family simply expects her to drop everything to cook, buy presents, and decorate the house. When Joy responds by calling a halt to the familiar Christmas traditions, she is quickly joined by the rest of the mothers in her neighborhood. Now the more steam Joy's movement gains, the faster her once quiet town spirals into complete chaos. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

First time director/screenwriter Antonio Negret details the frightening trend of kidnapping in Colombia with this tense tale of a young photographer who is abducted and held for ransom as his desperate parents scramble to raise the money that could save their child's life. Jose Gutierrez (Roberto Urbina) is a Colombian photographer in his early twenties who had come to America in order to pursue an education. Upon returning to his homeland, Jose is greeted by his good friends Jaime (Andres Toro), Pedro (Roberto Cano), and Luiza (America Ferrera. In the following days, Luiza attempts to show Jose just how much beauty Colombia truly has to offer. Despite the undeniable beauty of the land, however, Colombia holds a hidden danger that many fail to see until it's too late. Unfortunately for Jose, the night he realizes his love for Luiza and his homeland is the very same night that vicious kidnapping ringleader Manuel (Carlos Valencia) decides to strike. Now, realizing that their son's fate relies solely on the speed with which the ransom can be delivered, Jose's parents Marta (Alejandra Borrero) and Carlos (Tony Plana) hire an American "Kidnap and Ransom" company led by the experienced John (William Atherton) and his partners Victor (Cameron Daddo) and Charlie (David Sutcliffe) to negotiate with the quick-tempered Manuel. When Marta and Carlos' insurance company denies the claim and John attempts to reason with the increasingly erratic kidnapper, Victor begins to fear that time is running out and rounds up a team of special ops soldiers to search for Jose by helicopter. With only ninety-minutes to go before the deadline is up and Jose is killed, the race is on to either deliver the ransom or confront the kidnappers with force and firepower. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

This lighthearted comedy pokes fun at the culture wars, and the debate over same-sex parenting. Southern gal Miranda is an Evangelical Christian with all the social and political beliefs dictated by her church, but when she gets what she's sure is a message from God, she does a 180 and decides to become a surrogate mother for a married gay couple from Boston. It's a weird enough situation as it is, but things get even crazier for Miranda when one of her baby-daddies-to-be decides to come down South for a visit -- and won't leave! ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi

A physician who helps his clients bring new life into the world is accused of an ethical breach that's also criminal in this independent drama. Dr. Freeman (Colm Feore) is a doctor who runs an upscale fertility clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada. Freeman specializes in helping women who have had trouble getting pregnant conceive, usually through artificial insemination techniques or transplanting donated eggs into his patients. Over the course of several weeks, Freeman inseminates nine women from different walks of life, ranging from middle-aged but newly married Lottie (Andie MacDowell) and a lesbian whose reproductive clock is ticking, Elsa (Donna D'Errico) to Frances (Geraldine Chaplin), an aging socialite who needs a son to inherit her husband's fortune and sassy, outspoken Salome (Jennifer Tilly). Of these nine women, eight become pregnant and give birth to healthy children, but when the new mothers compare notes, they discover their children bear a striking resemblance to one another. When journalist Tallulah (Elizabeth McGovern) looks into their story, they begin to suspect that Freeman used his own sperm to fertilize his patients rather than the donor samples they selected, a breach of conduct that lands the doctor in court. Inconceivable also stars Kerry Fox, Amanda Plummer and Colin Mochrie; Geraldine Chaplin's daughter Oona Chaplin co-stars as Frances's grown daughter. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Returning from London, Rory (Alexis Bledel) has a belated Christmas holiday with her family (cue the snow!) Unfortunately, her mind is still on her strained friendship with Lucy, who now "knows all" about her boyfriend Marty's previous relationship with Rory. Meanwhile, Luke (Scott Patterson), still locked in a custody battle over his daughter April (Vanessa Marano), asks Lorelei (Lauren Graham) to write him a character reference--which proves to be yet another wake-up call for Lorelai regarding her not-so-dormant feelings about her former fiance. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Despite the pressures of his new business, Logan (Matt Czuchry) rushes to the hospital to be with Rory (Alexis Bledel) while the Gilmores await news about family patriarch Richard (Edward Herrmann), who has suffered a heart attack. Conversely, Christopher (David Sutcliffe) is nowhere to be found, leaving Lorelai (Lauren Graham) to worry all by herself. Meanwhile, Luke (Scott Patterson) shows up, offering to run errands for Emily (Kelly Bishop), an act of selfless generosity that makes quite an impression on Lorelai. As this highly-rated episode races to its conclusion, the belated arrival of Christopher serves only to drive the final stake in the heart of his marriage to Lorelai. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

There's plenty on the table in this episode. For starters, Jackson (Jackson Douglas) tries to provide Lorelai (Lauren Graham) with an explanation for Sookie's weird behavior. Next, the child-custody battle between Luke (Scott Patterson) and Anna (Sherilyn Fenn, in her final series appearance) heats up thanks to Anna's take-no-prisoners lawyer. Then, Christopher (David Sutcliffe) reads Lorelei's letter of recommendation for Luke, which convinces him once and for all that he is merely a "consolation husband." And finally, though Rory (Alexis Bledel) is friends again with Lucy (Krysten Ritter), her happiness is cut short when she witnesses her grandfather Richard (Edward Herrmann) suffering a heart attack right in the middle of economics class! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

While Richard (Edward Herrmann) recovers from his heart attack, his economics class Yale is handled by TA Tucker Culbertson (Cameron Bender)--who is quite smitten by Rory. Elsewhere, in a concerted effort to get her mind off her marital woes, Lorelei (Lauren Graham) throws herself into her preparations for the funeral of Michel's dog Chin Chin. This, however, does nothing to forestall the ultimate showdown between Lorelei and Christopher (David Sutcliffe)--in which the name "Luke" is invoked more than once! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Rory's graduation party is quite a spectacle, involving virtually everyone in Stars Hollow. During the festivities, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) are briefly reunited, and Logan (Matt Czuchry) shows up to propose marriage--and this time he won't leave until he gets an answer. Characteristically, Rory (Alexis Bledel) agonizes over her answer, which when it finally is given proves to be quite a surprise. Meanwhile, a sullen Luke (Scott Patterson) is convinced that Lorelei's drunken declaration of love was merely a case of the liquor doing all the talking. This episode marks the final apparances of series regulars Liz Weil, Matt Czuchry and Danny Strong. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

When the bachelor and bachelorette parties for Zach (Todd Lowe) and Lane (Keiko Agena) respectively fall through, the couple is forced to improvise. Informed by Lane's tradition-bound mother that she will have to have an escort at the wedding, and with Luke out of town, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) attends the ceremony with Christopher (David Sutcliffe). The religious beliefs of the couple's parents require that two entirely different wedding services be held, making Lorelai all the more depressed -- here are Zach and Lane getting married twice in the same day, and she hasn't been to the altar even once -- not even with the father of her child! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The air is thick enough to cut with a knife in the offices of the Yale Daily News; though Rory (Alexis Bledel) is now editor, her predecessor Paris (Liza Weil) is still on the staff, and still seething with resentment. Nor is this Rory's only cross to bear: while attending the wedding of Logan's sister Honor (Devon Sorvari), Rory learns from each one of the bridesmaids that Logan (Matt Czuchry) was far from lonely -- or celibate -- during their brief separation. Back in Stars Hollow, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) babysits for Christopher's three-year-old daughter, Gigi (Nicolette Collier), who turns out to be a thoroughly out-of-control brat; and Zach (Todd Lowe) tries to reunite the band even as Lane (Keiko Agena) advertises for new members. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Lorelai (Lauren Graham) promises that Luke (Scott Patterson) will attend the elder Gilmores' next Friday Night Dinner. Trouble is, she didn't tell Luke -- and he's none too happy about it, especially when Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) try to pin him down about the wedding date. Meanwhile back at Yale, Paris (Liza Weil) is fired as editor of the paper and Rory (Alexis Bledel) is installed in her place, whereupon Paris kicks Rory out of their apartment. Fortunately, Logan (Matt Czuchry) is on hand to offer Rory a place to stay...and even more fortunately, Rory not only grows closer to Logan, but also to her biological father Christopher (David Sutcliffe). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Season Seven of Gilmore Girls begins the proverbial "morning after", as an embarrassed Lorelei (Lauren Graham) scurries home following her one-night stand with ex-lover Christopher (David Sutcliffe, billed throughout the season as a "guest star" rather than a regular). This, however, does not mean that Lorelei is going to patch things up with her erstwhile fiance Luke (Scott Patterson): he has postponed their wedding once too often to suit her, and his impulsive offer to elope falls upon deaf ears. Meanwhile, Rory (Alexis Bledel) seriously considers joining Logan (Matt Czuchry) in London, where he has been "exiled" (with a fat weekly paycheck!) by his powerful publisher father Mitchell. And in the latest in a long line of screw-ups, Kirk (Sean Gunn) and Taylor (Michael Taylor) crash their car into Luke's diner. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Luke (Scott Patterson) isn't happy about the Lorelei-Christopher situation either, and he makes no secret of his anger. At first balking over the notion of attending her mom Emily's annual cotillion dance (it'll be her first time ever!), Lorelei (Lauren Graham) changes her mind after realizing that her lifelong struggle to do exactly the opposite of what her parents want her to do may be the cause of all her troubles. Meanwhile, Christopher (David Sutcliffe) makes a confession to Lorelai that will shape the events of the coming weeks. In other developments, the distance between Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Logan (Matt Czuchry) may be a lot wider than the distance between Stars Hollow and London; and both Lane (Keiko Agena) and Zach (Todd Lowe) come to terms (sort of) with their impending parenthood. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

They've only been hitched for a few weeks, but Lorelai (Lauren Graham) is already beginning to second-guess her marriage to Christopher (David Sutcliffe). Painfully aware of this, and realizing that Stars Hollow is still "pulling" for Lorelai's ex-fiance Luke (Scott Patterson), Christopher goes to great lengths to ingratiate himself to the locals during the town's big knit-a-thon--thereby setting himself up for yet another spectacular social blunder. Elsewhere, Rory (Alexis Bledel) finally rips into Marty (Wayne Wilcox) for his abominable behavior since he began dating her college friend Lucy(Krysten Ritter). And a baby son is born to T.J. (Michael DeLuise) and Liz (Kathleen Wilhoite), inspiring Luke to finally demand equal parental rights to April (Vanessa Marano). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

It's hardly a holly-jolly Christmas for Christopher (David Sutcliffe), now more convinced than ever that Lorelai (Lauren Graham) married him only to get over her relationship with Luke (Scott Patterson). Thus, when Emily (Kelly Bishop) plans to have the couple repeat their vows at a lavish party, chances are that neither Lorelai nor Christopher will even show up. Elsewhere, Luke begins legal action to claim partial custody of daughter April, then has a public confrontation with Christopher which does a neat job of shattering the town's Yuletide cheer (to say nothing of the Town Square decorations!) And Lucy (Krysten Ritter) finally finds out about the "history" between Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Marty (Wayne Wilcox). This episode was directed by series regular Jackson Douglas (Jackson Melville). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

After Luke (Scott Patterson) postpones the wedding for the umpteenth time, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) solicits the advice of her parents' dinner guest, psychologist Carolyn Bates (Melora Hardin) -- and ends up uttering the words she thought she'd never say about any man. Meanwhile, Rory (Alexis Bledel) disses Mitchum (Gregg Henry) at Logan's graduation, angry that Mitchum has presumptively arranged for Logan (Matt Czuchry) to work on his London newspaper. And in another development, Taylor (Michael Winters) feels threatened by the hundreds of street troubadours who have descended upon Stars Hollow in hopes of being discovered by a celebrity scout. This final episode of Gilmore Girls' sixth season (and the last before the series' network switchover from WB to CW) ends with a real shocker, as Lorelei overcomes her anger over Luke's indecision by turning (again) to Christopher (David Sutcliffe) -- and this time, the couple doesn't hesitate at the bedroom door! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Elsewhere, Rory (Alexis Bledel) tries to compensate for the missing Logan by acquiring a new brace of friends at Yale, Lucy and Olivia (Krysten Ritter and Michelle Ongkingo in their first series appearances). Just before Christopher (David Sutcliffe) is to join Lorelei (Lauren Graham) for Friday Night Dinner at her parents' house, the couple has a bitter quarrel over Christopher's daughter GiGi (Nicolette Collier). In her usual inimitable manner, however, Lorelai's mother Emily (Kelly Bishop) chooses to ignore how thick the air is at the dinner table. As for Lorelai's own daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), her reunion with Logan (Matt Czuchry) is a lot less fond than she'd anticipated, thanks to the presence of Logan's sexy new coworker. And elsewhere in Stars Hollow, Taylor (Michael Winters) alienates everyone (again!) by refusing to do anything about a malodorous trainload of spoiled pickles that has derailed just outside of town. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
