His thirtieth birthday rapidly approaching, a gay actor working as a tour guide at a movie studio theme park seeks to explore life outside the seductive allure of circuit parties in director Carrie Preston's soul searching independent comedy. James Sanchez is your typical late-twenties gay male; his hair is thinning, his gut is growing, and his dreams of fame and fortune have been replaced with bills that are piling up and a car that's about to break down. When he's not stalking the cute young boy at the local coffee house, tentatively exploring the world of online dating, or earning a little extra dough by wearing a giant bunny costume, James at least finds comfort in the company of his best friends Roxy and Brandon. While actress-turned-activist Roxy struggles to show James that there is more to life than dancing the night away at the club, self-assured homosexual Brandon is doing his best to coach his pal in the fine art of breaking the ice when he sees a man he's like to meet. A perpetual outsider who doesn't quite fit in to the circuit scene and finds himself constantly stuck in the middle of his Hispanic-American heritage, James does his best to find his place in the world with a little help from those who care about him most. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

This updated remake of the 1958 sci-fi cult classic I Married a Monster from Outer Space closely adheres to the same basic plotline as the original. On the eve of his wedding to Kelly Drummond (Susan Walters), good ol' boy Nick Farrell (Richard Burgi) wanders into the woods, where he is promptly abducted by aliens. Despite this ordeal, Nick shows up at the church on time and the wedding proceeds. But Kelly cannot help but notice that there is something "different" about her husband. Whereas previously all Nick cared about was drinking and carousing with his buddies, now he is serious, well-spoken, and curiously insistent that he and Kelly begin making babies as soon as possible. When all of Nick's drinking companions undergo similar character transformations, it becomes obvious to Kelly that the man she married isn't the man she intended to marry, but instead the "host" for an impending invasion from beyond.. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The story of two average women who refused to be silenced and intimidated by the company who manufactured their silicone implants is detailed in this inspirational docudrama starring Mary McDonnell and Gail O' Grady. Sybil Goldrich (McDonnell) was a wealthy California who was devastated to be diagnosed with breast cancer, and Kathleen Anneken (O'Grady) was a typical middle-class mother from Kansas who had always been unhappy with her breast size. Despite their disparate backgrounds and social statuses, both women would soon be drawn together by the tragic circumstances surrounding their decision to receive breast implants. Ignored, mistreated, and disregarded by silicone specialists Dow Corning after they received their implants and fell gravely ill, Goldrich and Anneken became united in their efforts to take their case to the FDA. While proving Down Corning was responsible for their many ailments was a near impossible task, getting their story out to the public was simply a matter of using every opportunity they had to state their case publicly. In the end it was one lawyer who possessed the incriminating evidence needed to bring Down Corning down, and ensure that their cries weren't silenced by the stifling greenback gag of big business. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
