Grammy-winning Fugee Pras Michel explores the troubling reality of homelessness by shedding his million dollar duds and living in the five block radius of Los Angeles known as "Skid Row" - an area where poverty runs notoriously rampant - in this documentary co-directed by Marshall Tyler, Ross Clarke, and Niva Dorell. For nine days Michel trades his stardom for the anonymous life of a typical homeless man, struggling to find food and shelter in a bit to better understand the arduous plight of the less fortunate. As the days progress and Michel gradually gets to know the men, women, and children who call the sidewalks their home, tragic and heartfelt stories of survival give a face to the folks who many simply do their best to ignore. Hot gossip and cool hairdos sit side-by-side in this independent comedy-drama. Nora (Jenifer Lewis) is the owner of her own hair salon in an African-American community in Los Angeles, and she watches over her "family" of employees, as well as an assortment of friends, relatives, and regular customers. Lilleana (Tatyana Ali) is a new employee at the salon who is trapped in an abusive relationship with her husband Bennie (Bobby Brown). Chloe (Tamala Jones) is a hair stylist who has aspirations of making it into show biz. Ming (Lucille Soong) does manicures and isn't very good at minding her temper or hiding her opinions. And Devin (Jean-Claude LaMarre) is a gay man who is feeling uncertain about his relationship with his boyfriend, Delicious (Donn Swaby). Jean Claude La Marre directs the urban comedy Go for Broke. Two guys win the New York lottery, then get held up by a robber at a cafe. The woman robbing the place gets caught, taking their winning lottery ticket with her to prison. In order to get the stolen ticket back, the two guys dress in drag to infiltrate a women's prison. Prakazrel Michel, better known as Pras from the top-selling R&B group The Fugees, stars in this urban drama based on both his solo album Ghetto Superstar and his novel of the same name. Diamond (Pras) is an up-and-coming musician who is trying to use his creative gifts to work his way out of the ghetto after the traumatic death of his mother. But he soon discovers that the music industry is nearly as corrupt and dangerous as the streets he's trying to leave behind, and Diamond is guided into a life of crime by his shady friend Gage (Ja Rule). In addition, Diamond must content with the unexpected pregnancy of his girlfriend Tamara (Tamala Jones), and attempts by his father Cliff (Vondie Curtis-Hall) to mend their contentious relationship. Rap musicians find something new to be afraid of in this hip-hop-themed parody of The Blair Witch Project. A supernatural being known as "The Black Witch in the Project" is terrorizing some of the biggest names in rap music, and a number of performers fear for their lives -- so much so that The Street Don, an underground music tycoon, is offering a reward of $10 million to whoever can find and capture the witch. As The Street Don presents daily television reports on the witch's latest victims, everyone who can scare up the courage (and needs the money badly enough) hits the streets looking for the she-demon, while a number of rappers discuss their own horrifying encounters with the Black Witch.
