A criminal follows his own sense of justice in this taut crime thriller. Fabio (Frank Molina) is a convicted counterfeiter who was sentenced to 25 years behind bars for his last caper. After serving ten years, Fabio is being released, but his shortened sentence isn't a matter of good behavior -- a pair of gangsters have pulled some strings under the condition that Fabio hand over two million dollars in high-quality forged notes he's been hiding. Back on the streets of New York, Fabio sets out to recover the funny money, and along the way tries to mend fences with his daughter while getting revenge against his treacherous former girlfriend Sonia (Maite Bonilla), as well as two former colleagues, Chory (Jules Graciolett) and Juan (Teddy Garces), who betrayed him and have been living off one of his old scores. Six childhood friends with criminal aspirations find their dreams shattered by betrayal in this tale of misplaced loyalty and revenge. Mellizo is the leader of the six stick-up men, and Ingeniero is both his right-hand man and best friend. When Ingeniero's greed overtakes his better judgment and he betrays his former partner in crime, Mellizo opts to forget about the past and move on. Mellizo isn't so forgiving, though, when Ingeniero betrays him a second time and Mellizo is subsequently jailed.
