En route to Athens, Xena (Lucy Lawless) and Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) find themselves in the thick of a battle fomented by two rival brothers. The women find shelter for the wounded, including their pregnant Amazon friend Ephiny (Danielle Cormack). In her efforts to cure the casualties in a healing temple and to end the bloodshed, Gabrielle is herself wounded -- perhaps fatally. Kate Hodge guest stars as Celesta, the sister of Hades (Erik Thomson), God of the Underworld -- and the living personification of Death.
