Filmmaker Sebastian Gutierrez writes and directs this ensemble comedy following ten Los Angeles women over the course of 24 hours. When porn starlet Electra Luxx (Carla Gugino) discovers that she's pregnant, her wild world of pleasure and excess is suddenly turned upside down. Subsequently stuck in an elevator with neurotic Doris (Connie Britton), Electra realizes she's standing at a pivotal crossroads in life. Meanwhile, adult film up-and-comer Holly Rocket (Adrianne Palicki) struggles with her reluctance to go girl-on-girl in front of the cameras by putting on a private show with her sexy friend Bambi (Emmanuelle Chriqui), a therapist (Sarah Clarke) turns to the bottle after discovering her husband has been unfaithful, a flight attendant (Marley Shelton) applies for membership in the Mile High Club with a famous passenger, and a precocious teen (Isabella Gutierrez) realizes that the adults in her life aren't nearly as well adjusted as they'd like her to believe. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Perhaps the most highly anticipated film of 2003, Kill Bill Vol. 1 marked the return of renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino after a six-year hiatus. Re-teaming the director with Uma Thurman for the first time since 1994's Pulp Fiction, the film was originally the first half of what was to be a three-hour-plus movie before being split into two films. Thurman stars as The Bride, one-fifth of a team of assassins called DiVAS. When The Bride opts to leave the outfit for a life of marital bliss, it doesn't sit well with her boss, Bill (David Carradine), so he has her former cohorts, played by Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Daryl Hannah, and Michael Madsen, show up at the nuptials, leaving behind a blood bath. Miraculously, The Bride survives a bullet to the head and, four years later, she sets out for revenge against her four assassins and their employer. A handful of old friends learn you can go home again, but you'll also have to clear out the damage the next morning in this bittersweet comedy-drama. Valinda (Connie Britton) is a woman in her late thirties who is helping her parents sell the house where she grew up. A few days before the house is to be cleared out, Valinda decides to hold an Eighties theme party for all her old high school friends. The next morning, the house is a staggering mess, while Valinda and her pals are simply staggering. As they battle their hangovers with the hair of the dog, Valinda persuades her friends to help her clean up the aftermath, and over the course of the day everyone find themselves looking back on who they were and where they are now. Valinda's husband Will (Tate Donovan) is a solid, responsible guy who happens to be a bit boring. Zoey (Ione Skye) likes to think of herself as happily married, but she knows her relationship with Jack (William Mapother) is in trouble, especially since he still carries a torch for Valinda. Katrina (Caitlin Keats) is a doctor who enjoys a successful professional life, but on a personal level she's suffered through a long series of failing relationships that she's not sure will ever end. Corey (David Herman) enjoyed a brief fame as a child actor that has left him emotionally stunted. Claire (Sarah Clarke) is a sweet and sensible Midwestern wife and mom, but she's never been able to shake her love for her high school sweetheart, who (to her chagrin) didn't show up for the bash. And Mickey (Eric Stoltz) has hardly changed a bit -- he was a world-class party animal in his teens, and still cheerfully revels in alcohol and drugs.
