After rape victim Rhonda Burke (Sonia Curtis) suffers a fatal attack, one of the many suspects comes forth with a confession--which is promptly thrown out of court. Outraged by this breach of justice, Rhonda's sister Sheila (Lauren Tewes) swears vengeance on all those suspected of assaulting Rhonda. Subsequently, two suspects are killed, and Hunter (Fred Dryer) and McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) are ordered to go after Sheila--even though Hunter cannot reconcile himself to the notion that Sheila is a murderer. Though not readily apparent, Flight to Holocaust is the feature-length pilot film for a potential TV series. Crashing into the side of a high-rise building, an airplane is precariously wedged in the structure's 20th floor. Dispatched to rescue the survivors are a team of acrobatic troubleshooters, played by female circus performer Fawne Harriman and combat veterans Chris Mitchum, Patrick Wayne, Desi Arnaz Jr. and Paul Williams. As can be gathered by a perusal of the cast list, the film's gimmick was the presence of three second-generation Hollywood stars. After the initial telecast of Flight to Holocaust on March 27, 1977, NBC invited viewers to mail in their opinions of the film. Checking out a seaside house that the Baldwin sisters have donated to the War effort, the Waltons find a strange young English girl named Lisa (Vickery Turner) living inside the deserted building. The F.B.I. inagurates its ninth season (originally telecast in a 7:30PM Sunday timeslot, one half-hour earlier than its traditional 8 PM berth) with an all-points-bulletin manhunt for three clever ex-cons. The crooks have pulled off a $4,000,000 heist at an armored car firm, leaving Inspector Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) eating their dust. The only clues Erskine has to work on are eyewitness accounts of a blue pickup truck (a Ford, of course!) and a tiny sample of type-B blood.
