Billy Bush Movies

One of cable television's most prolific emcees, and a first cousin of U.S. President George W. Bush, Billy Bush became a mainstay at such red-carpet events as the Miss Universe pageant and Countdown to the Oscars, and served as a correspondent on news programs including Today, Access Hollywood, and The Insider. Bush's career turned an unusual corner in 2003 when he hosted the revival of the game show Let's Make a Deal (a position he inherited from Monty Hall); he later signed to host the reality series Grease: You're the One That I Want (2007), presiding over a competition of theatrical tryouts who clamored to win the parts of Danny and Sandy in a revival of the stage musical Grease. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Filmmakers Phillip B. Kunhardt III, Nancy Steiner, and Peter W. Kunhardt explore the eternal struggle for liberty in America while simultaneously illuminating the hypocritical underlying factors that undermined the colonist's bold "experiment in freedom," in a revealing documentary featuring the voices of Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen, Michael Caine, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins , Meryl Streep, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert Redford and many more. As the newly arrived British subjects staged the revolution that would cut loose their ties to Great Britain and give birth to a new era of freedom, a new hope for liberty emerged - but how then does one justify the presence of slavery in a society founded on the claim of all men being "created equal?" A blight on the quest for liberty and freedom that literally divided a struggling young nation right down the middle, slavery would be the last true obstacle in ensuring that the land of the free would truly live up to the ideals set forth by the founding fathers. As the north and the south set the stage for a bloody four-year war that would go down in history as one of the most brutal internal struggles ever waged, the resulting Civil War showed the willingness of Americans to actually stand up and fight to protect the rights of others as stated in the Constitution. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

An ambitious young record company executive attempts to transport an unpredictable rock star to L.A.'s Greek Theatre in time for his hotly anticipated comeback performance in this spin-off of the comedy hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) has just landed his dream job in the record industry, and he's eager to prove his worth. His first assignment: travel to London and escort British rock god Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) to the show that will re-ignite his career. Before he departs, Aaron is warned by his boss Sergio Roma (Sean Combs) to never let Aldous out of his sight, and never underestimate his capacity for mayhem. Immensely talented yet deeply tortured, Aldous hit the bottle hard after his popularity began to wane and his girl walked out on him. Aldous is locked in the midst of an existential crisis, and rues the thought of being accompanied across the pond by an insincere sycophant. Though it seems like sex is the only thing Aldous ever thinks about, his thoughts turn to romance when he discovers that gorgeous model/pop singer Jackie Q (Rose Byrne) will be in Los Angeles at the time of his concert, too. Jackie Q is the love of Aldous' life, and he'll do anything and everything to win her heart. With the concert fast approaching and Aaron's fledgling career on the line, the race is on to get Aldous to the Greek, and ensure the big show goes off without a hitch. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This NBC reality-competition series was inspired by the BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, in which a revival of "The Sound of Music" was cast by public opinion rather than through the traditional process. The American version revolved around a big-scale revival of the long-running musical "Grease", with that show's cocreator David Ian joining forces with producer David Ian and director Kathleen Marshall to select the perfect "Danny" and "Sandy" to headline the show. The competition was held along the lines of American Idol, with the finalists strutting their stuff before the three above-mentioned judges (in case you're wondering, David Ian functioned as the resident "Simon Cowell" with his withering glares and caustic comments). The audition process began in LA and Chicago, with the finalists attending "Grease Academy" in preparation of the Big Moment in which the field narrowed down to two performers. Hosted by Billy Bush of Access Hollywood, Grease: You're the One That I Want! debuted January 7, 2007 with a 90-minute special, and thereafter was seen on a weekly, 60-minute basis. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The old audience-participation "trade-and-giveaway" series Let's Make a Deal was revived for the 21st century generation by NBC. The prizes were more lavish and the costumes worn by the folks in the audience were more outrageous, but essentially the original format was intact, right down to "What's Behind Doors Number 1, 2 and 3?" Billy Bush, formerly of the daily current-events series Access Hollywood, served as host, while the original Let's Make a Deal's Monty Hall was among the new series' executive producers. Running a full hour each week, the revitalized Let's Make a Deal premiered on March 4, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
