One of cable television's most prolific emcees, and a first cousin of U.S. President George W. Bush, Billy Bush became a mainstay at such red-carpet events as the Miss Universe pageant and Countdown to the Oscars, and served as a correspondent on news programs including Today, Access Hollywood, and The Insider. Bush's career turned an unusual corner in 2003 when he hosted the revival of the game show Let's Make a Deal (a position he inherited from Monty Hall); he later signed to host the reality series Grease: You're the One That I Want (2007), presiding over a competition of theatrical tryouts who clamored to win the parts of Danny and Sandy in a revival of the stage musical Grease. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie GuideFilmmakers Phillip B. Kunhardt III, Nancy Steiner, and Peter W. Kunhardt explore the eternal struggle for liberty in America while simultaneously illuminating the hypocritical underlying factors that undermined the colonist's bold "experiment in freedom," in a revealing documentary featuring the voices of Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen, Michael Caine, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins , Meryl Streep, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert Redford and many more. As the newly arrived British subjects staged the revolution that would cut loose their ties to Great Britain and give birth to a new era of freedom, a new hope for liberty emerged - but how then does one justify the presence of slavery in a society founded on the claim of all men being "created equal?" A blight on the quest for liberty and freedom that literally divided a struggling young nation right down the middle, slavery would be the last true obstacle in ensuring that the land of the free would truly live up to the ideals set forth by the founding fathers. As the north and the south set the stage for a bloody four-year war that would go down in history as one of the most brutal internal struggles ever waged, the resulting Civil War showed the willingness of Americans to actually stand up and fight to protect the rights of others as stated in the Constitution. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
The old audience-participation "trade-and-giveaway" series Let's Make a Deal was revived for the 21st century generation by NBC. The prizes were more lavish and the costumes worn by the folks in the audience were more outrageous, but essentially the original format was intact, right down to "What's Behind Doors Number 1, 2 and 3?" Billy Bush, formerly of the daily current-events series Access Hollywood, served as host, while the original Let's Make a Deal's Monty Hall was among the new series' executive producers. Running a full hour each week, the revitalized Let's Make a Deal premiered on March 4, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This NBC reality-competition series was inspired by the BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, in which a revival of "The Sound of Music" was cast by public opinion rather than through the traditional process. The American version revolved around a big-scale revival of the long-running musical "Grease", with that show's cocreator David Ian joining forces with producer David Ian and director Kathleen Marshall to select the perfect "Danny" and "Sandy" to headline the show. The competition was held along the lines of American Idol, with the finalists strutting their stuff before the three above-mentioned judges (in case you're wondering, David Ian functioned as the resident "Simon Cowell" with his withering glares and caustic comments). The audition process began in LA and Chicago, with the finalists attending "Grease Academy" in preparation of the Big Moment in which the field narrowed down to two performers. Hosted by Billy Bush of Access Hollywood, Grease: You're the One That I Want! debuted January 7, 2007 with a 90-minute special, and thereafter was seen on a weekly, 60-minute basis. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In desperate need of a vacation after being unceremoniously dumped by his TV-star girlfriend, a man travels to a lavish Hawaiian resort to nurse his wounds and forget his heartache, only to discover that his ex and her handsome new boyfriend are currently staying at the exact same island hot spot. Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) may be just another struggling musician, but for the past six years he's been dating Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), one of the hottest stars on television. Sarah is everything in the world to Peter, so when she kindly but firmly tells him that they should each go their separate ways, he is absolutely devastated. Later, after attempting to salvage his ego by awkwardly attempting to become a womanizer and nearly losing his job because of a nervous breakdown, an emotionally fragile Peter attempts to put the past behind him by escaping to the sun-soaked beaches of Oahu. While at first it seems as if Peter has discovered the perfect prescription for a bad case of lost love, his plan soon turns to dust when Sarah and her new rock-star boyfriend, Aldous (Russell Brand), turn up at the exact same resort. Though accepting Sarah's lavish new lifestyle won't be easy for the crestfallen Peter, the laid-back companionship of flirtatious resort employee Rachel (Mila Kunis) -- not to mention a continuous regimen of fruity cocktails -- goes a long way in mending the wounds of a broken heart. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was penned by Segel and produced by Judd Apatow. Fun with Dick and Jane screenwriter Nicholas Stoller makes his directorial debut. The cast also includes Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Jack McBrayer, and Jonah Hill. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
