A hellish piece of professional laundry equipment wreaks havoc in a tiny New England town in this horror film. It all begins in The Blue Ribbon Laundry, a place run by the ruthless, crippled old Bill Gartley. With no feelings at all for his employees, he demands absolute obedience and unrelenting hard work. One day an old speed iron goes crazy, sucks in and permanently presses a hapless worker. The rest of the crew is frightened and in shock, but this does not stop old Gartley from cruelly ordering them back to work. A police officer investigates the case and begins suspecting that the sinister owner is concealing something. When a boy suffocates in an abandoned refrigerator that had somehow come in contact with the speed iron, the cop calls in his friend the theoretical parapsychologist who deduces that there is a "transference of evil" going on. Meanwhile, Gartley is putting the moves on comely Lin Sue; he also is interested in messing with his own niece. Both girls have been harmed by the evil iron and have contributed some of their precious blood to it. It is the cop who discovers that in order for Gartley to remain successful, he must see that the demonic machine periodically receives such sacrificial donations. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Following in the tradition of his 1995 film Grim, in which England's Clearwell Caves doubled for Virginia, Paul Matthews' Breeders has England double for a Boston girls' school. The plot concerns a meteor that holds an alien monster (rendered in 3-D on the garish video box), a slinky alien woman (Kadamba Simmons), and a bunch of shattered crystals. The crystals end up as necklaces around the necks of several students, who get possessed and go to the sewers beneath the school where they are encased in cocoons so they can bear the monster's children. In a morally dubious development, the hero is a professor (Todd Jensen) who is sleeping with one of his students (Samantha Janus). The same basic story was shot under the same title in 1986 by Tim Kincaid. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Burly British actor John Rhys-Davies forsakes the good-guy motions he'd gone through in Raiders of the Lost Ark and TV's The Untouchables to play the villain in 1993's Cyborg Cop. If you've guessed that this is Robocop redux, you're on the money. The title character has been converted from man to machine on a remote Caribbean island. Unfortunately, Cyborg Cop is as evil as his mentor (Rhys-Davies), so it's up to the mechanical man's DEA-agent brother to straighten him out. Lovely scenery, some exciting scenes, lots of grade-A ham from the redoubtable Rhys-Davies. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

They begin by luring an innocent, unemployed journalist into playing a little mock hunting game using paint pellets for bullets. At first all involved are using phony bullets, but then, the group leader, Eric Du Pont, quietly loads real bullets into his gun and begins killing the others one-by one, leaving the survivors to begin blaming the journalist who must now run for his life. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
