Buxom Playboy foldout Shannon Tweed plays a sexy college professor assigned to investigate a sudden, disastrous avocado shortage; her predecessor, a Dr. Kurtz (Adrienne Barbeau) has never returned from the dreaded California Avocado Jungle. Accompanied by air-headed assistant Karen Mistal and macho guide Bill Maher (of Politically Incorrect fame), Tweed ventures into the deepest jungle, where the Piranha Women rule. Proof that this civilization is a matriarchy is the presence of a tribe of wimpy, domesticated men called the Donnahews, who chant names like Alan Alda and Fritz Mondale as their mantra. Fortunately, Tweed is armed with her N.O.W. membership card, so she is allowed safe passage. She finally catches up with Kurtz, who reveals that the avocado shortage is phony, designed by the government as an excuse to capture the Piranha women and transform them into Malibu housewives. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Nomads is a scary, supernatural horror movie without blood and guts and gore or bouts of eroticism. Pierce Brosnan is Pommier, an anthropologist who has spent years researching the nomads in some of the coldest and hottest parts of the globe. Apparently, his research went too far, because now he is haunted by evil nomad spirits who do not look much different than some of the '90s teens with purple or green hair, chalky-white faces with dark mascara, and clothes to match. As he starts out hunting down these beings, scenes of a young female doctor (Lesley-Anne Down) fighting off an evil spirit are also shown. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

In the conclusion of a two-part story, Adama (Lorne Greene) clashes with Commander Cain (Lloyd Bridges), a legendary--and extremely egocentric--colonial warrior. Cain wants to use the combined forces of his battleship Pegasus and Adama's Galactica for an all-out resistance against a massive Cylon attack, but Adama, worried about the human cost of such an undertaking, is dead set against the plan. Even so, by the time the episode is over, the crews of the Pegasus and the Galactica are battling shoulder-to-shoulder--and it may be a battle to the death. In the first episode of a two-part story, a recon mission led by Apollo (Richard Hatch) and Starbuck (Dirk Benedict) confronts a fleet of Vipers from the long-lost Battlestar Pegasus. Ultimately, Cmdr. Adama (Lorne Greene) comes face to face with the Pegasus' skipper, legendary colonial warrior Cain (Lloyd Bridges). Unfortunately, Cain's heroism is dwarfed by his ego and his recklessness--and he is determined to lead his vessel and the Galactica on a suicidal attack against the Cylon forces. Bert Freed guest stars as Syndicate chieftan Leon Chandler, whose trial for murder may end in acquittal thanks to the actions of a corrupt lieutenant governor. The key witness against Chandler, Nora Dawson (Susan Howard), is slowly being driven insane in a mob-controlled mental hospital. The IMF's mission: To infiltrate the hospital, rescue Nora, and expose Chandler's political stooge. Series regular Lynda Day George steals the show with her impersonation of a deranged woman.
