A yacht outing to Australia's Great Barrier Reef leads to a harrowing struggle for survival in this deep sea shocker from Black Water director Andrew Traucki. The sun was shining and the waters were calm when Luke and his friends set sail in their luxury yacht. But when jagged rocks tear a hole in the hull, the terrified passengers are forced to choose between remaining on board in hopes of being rescued and braving the shark-infested waters for a 12 mile swim to the nearest island. The moment everyone dives into the ocean, however, a massive Great White Shark picks up their scent, and begins methodically dragging them down into the icy depths, one-by-one. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Feeling as if her life has grown stagnant after all of her friends jump town in search of greener pastures elsewhere, an aimless office worker is urged by a platonic male friend to carve her own path in life and not simply go with the flow like a dead fish. Anthea (Charlotte Gregg) has sat idly by as all of her friends and acquaintances packed their bags in hopes of finding meaning in the big city. While there's little evidence that any of them really have achieved all of their wildest dreams, dejected twenty-something Anthea, too is beginning to consider the prospect of relocating if for no other reason than to escape the daily drone of her miserable office job. Anthea's longtime friend Michael (Matt Zeremes) is stuck in his own rut, and is currently doing his best to convince her to stick around the sleepy eastern Australia town. To this point the relationship between Anthea and Michael has been strictly platonic, but as Anthea starts to take the prospect of relocating increasingly serious it begins to appear as if Michael has not been completely honest about his feelings for his downcast friend. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A man with no memory is unwittingly thrown into danger in this thriller with a comic edge from Australia. As Adrian (Clayton Watson), a young man who suffers from severe amnesia and can't retain a memory for longer than 30 minutes, is being held against his will by gangsters, he struggles to figure out what has happened to him, using his collection of scribbled notes and instant photos to recall recent events. Eventually, Adrian remembers Brandon (Nathan Phillips), who works at a home for the challenged where Adrian spends his days. Brandon is a champion surfer who is sentenced to work at the home as community service after becoming involved in a vicious fight. Brandon has convinced his supervisor Maxine (Marg Downey) to let him take Adrian and palsied Trevor (Steady Eddie) to the beach for a day in the sun; Brandon, however, has an ulterior motive, as a surf competition is being held at the seashore that day. After picking up hitchhiker Jo (Chloe Maxwell), Brandon and his charges arrive at the beach, where a run-in with Gene (Damien Garvey), the leader of a local gang, takes matters in an unfortunate direction. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

A family man and working stiff has a lucrative but illegal sideline in this comedy from Australia. Eddy (John Howard) makes his living as a fisherman in a small coastal town in New South Wales called Shellharbour -- or at least that's what his wife, Yvonne (Rebecca Frith), and his twentysomething daughter, Chantelle (Alyssa McClelland), think. Actually, Eddy and his partner, Dominic (Gyton Grantley), commit murders for hire when they aren't busy on the ocean. Eddy already has a slightly bumpy relationship with both Yvonne and Chantelle, but things become more complicated when Chantelle is given her walking papers by her Russian fiancé, and her new boyfriend turns out to be a ne'er-do-well who might be one of Eddy's upcoming targets. A Man's Gotta Do was written and directed by Chris Kennedy, who worked as a dentist before he found success as a filmmaker. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Clinging to their youthful recklessness before hurdling headlong into the dreaded world of adulthood responsibility, the graduating high school class of 70,000 head to the Gold Coast to live it up at the Australian phenomenon known as Schoolies and party themselves into oblivion. Whether by train, bus, car or limo, Blurred just goes to show that getting there is half the fun as a variety of characters experience the youthful rush of youthful abandon. Set to a frenetic pace and taking on the madness of Schoolies for the first time, director Evan Clary's freshman effort offers a rare glimpse into the wild world of Australia's equivalent to America's spring break antics. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
