The British sitcom Slap! Love, Lies and Lipstick was set in Manchester, where a prominent bank occupied a building next to a huge department store. When bank clerk Dan (Steven Curry) was dumped by his mercenary girlfriend Annabel (Camilla Power), he wandered disconsolately over to the big store's cosmetics department, where he immediately struck up a relationship with salesperson Sheryl (Kate Wragg). From this slim premise the producers were able to milk seven half-hour episodes. Slap!
