Young Tom (Daniel Newman) is a London prostitute pimped by the violently psychotic gangster Norris (Mark McGann), who regularly "offers" him to Dunston (John Benfield), a brutally corrupt detective with Scotland Yard. A tragic twist of fate frees Tom from Norris, but Dunston discovers Norris had been secretly videotaping his sessions with Tom in order to blackmail him later. Frank Van Passel's adaptation of William Elsschot's novella Villa des Roses stars Julie Delpy. Delpy is a French maid who works at a home for the poor and unfortunate. She becomes pregnant, and is forced to risk a dangerous abortion. The director employed digital effects to help create the elaborate visual design of the film. In this British sci-fi thriller a group of drug smugglers race their yacht across Hong Kong harbor as they attempt to escape triad gangs after a botched drug deal. They end up docking at a seemingly abandoned off-shore oil rig and it isn't long before they discover that they would have been better off in the triad's hands as the rig is really a research lab where a hungry, constantly morphing genetic experiment has eaten all of the scientists.
