New love feeds a woman's deepest fears in this independent drama. Julie (Jess Weixler) is a shy young woman who one day happens to meet a handsome and mysterious man. As the two get to know one another, Julie learns the stranger is Max Oliver (Willem Dafoe), a well-known author. Max is still struggling emotionally with the death of his wife Lucia (Mariela Franganillo), a famous dancer, but with Julie he begins to come to terms with his grief, and as he falls for her, he asks her to leave New York and come with him to his estate in Italy. Directed by Giada Colagrande, Aprimi II Cuore follows the obsessive and sometimes incestuous relationship between sisters Caterina (Colagrande) and Maria (Natalie Cristiani). Caterina, 17-years-old and shy, loves the arts and takes comfort in listening to music while her sister, a prostitute, entertains her nightly host of clients. Living in the apartment becomes harder with each passing day, as Maria is only allowed to leave to go to dance class.
