Jesse McCartney Movies
Born in 1987, performer Jesse McCartney ascended to child stardom during his grade-school years and demonstrated an unusual degree of versatility for one his age. By his 13th birthday, the prodigious young entertainer had already sung and acted on Broadway, landed a gig in a boy band, and essayed an ongoing role on a blockbuster daytime soap -- all formidable accomplishments for a middle schooler. McCartney first attained recognition by taking an early on-camera bow at age 11 as the young teenage version of rebellious "J.R." Chandler on All My Children (a role he held from July 1998 to August 2001). Beginning in 1999, McCartney joined the boy band Dream Street (alongside Christopher Trousdale, Greg Raposo, Frankie Galasso, and Matt Ballinger); that ensemble's eponymous debut (released in October of 2000) went platinum and helped spin off McCartney's solo recording career.At about the same time, McCartney extended his acting resumé into prime-time activity, with occasional guest appearances on such programs as Law & Order and (a few years later) prime billing as Bradin Westerly, an orphaned Kansas transplant raised by his aunt (Lori Loughlin) in Southern California, on the WB's family-oriented series drama Summerland (2004-2005). McCartney moved into big-screen activity as well, but for several years placed a stronger emphasis on vocal and musical contributions to films, such as his duet with Anne Hathaway, "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart," on the soundtrack for Ella Enchanted, and his assignments voicing the characters of Theodore in the 2007 Alvin and the Chipmunks and JoJo in the 2008 Horton Hears a Who. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are back in director Tim Hill's computer-animation/live-action hybrid following the further adventures of the world's most adorable singing trio. Songwriter Dave Seville (Jason Lee) has been struggling to gain recognition in the music industry for some time, and despite the fact that his former college roommate (David Cross) is now a high-profile powerbroker at Jett Records, Dave still can't manage to get a break. Things soon start to look up, however, when Dave discovers three singing chipmunks hiding out in the branches of a Christmas tree in Jett Records' world headquarters. Realizing that these woodland crooners cold prove to be his ticket to the big time, Dave does his best to transform Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) into the next great pop sensation. As adorable and talented as they may be, though, these bouncy little critters aren't quite domesticated just yet; they still have a wild streak in them a mile wide, and it isn't long before Dave's life, home, and career are in utter chaos. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore meet their musical match after returning to school and entering into a battle of the bands competition in hopes of saving the school's troubled music program. Sent to live with Dave Seville's younger nephew Toby (Zachary Levi), the three lovable marmots decide that getting an education is more important than belting out pop tunes. But the school's music program is about to go belly up, and the only way to save it is to win the 25,000-dollar prize in the upcoming battle of the bands. Though the Chipmunks are confident they have the songwriting skills to steamroll the competition, a newly formed singing trio dubbed the Chippettes promises to give them some stiff competition on-stage. Brittany, Eleanor, and Jeanette are indeed the real deal, and the closer the competition gets, the more Alvin, Simon, and Theodore realize that in order to win, they'll have to give it everything they've got. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A teenager learns both the upsides and downsides of upsetting the status quo in this comedy. Eddie Gilman (Ezra Miller) is a high school student who has great ambitions of becoming a journalist and wants to write for the school newspaper. However, Eddie is low on the school's social pecking order, and when he angers the paper's self-centered editor, Gavin Riley (Jesse McCartney), he's bumped from their staff. Determined to have his say, Eddie starts his own underground paper, "The Gonzo Files," which tells the messy truth about campus stories and dispels the lies spread about some of the student body. Eddie and his staff -- including fellow geeky outcasts Scheenman (Edward Gelbinovich), Horny Rob (Griffin Newman) and Ming Na (Stefanie Y. Hong), and gossip victim Evie (Zoë Kravitz) -- become heroes at the school as "The Gonzo Files" becomes a hit, but Eddie's new popularity goes to his head, and he ends up on the other side of the same sort of rumors he wrote about himself. Before joining Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell and her fairy brethren were busy creating their own special magic in Pixie Hollow, where they go about the business of bringing rainbows to the sky, color to the flowers, and adding their fairy signature to other miracles of nature. Each fairy is gifted with a unique magical talent to contribute, but Tinker Bell (voiced by Mae Whitman) can't help but feel her talent ("tinkering") isn't as good as those of her fairy companions, and tries her best to change it.
