This Hallmark Channel TV movie is one of a series starring John Larroquette as McBride (no first name), a hard-nosed cop turned compassionate defense lawyer, specializing in "lost causes." This time, McBride's client is Leo Eckert (David Bowe), who is convinced that he accidentally shot and killed his therapist George Prescott (Richard Fancy) after Prescott double-crossed him during Eckert's courtroom efforts to gain custody of his child. Rushing to the "murder scene", McBride finds that Prescott's body has disappeared--and in fact keeps on disappearing no matter where it turns up. Confronted with a plethora of suspects who like Eckert had more than enough reason to want the therapist dead, McBride comes to the conclusion that Eckert may have shot Prescott when the victim was already dead--then fine-tunes his conclusion a bit when it begins to look like Prescott may still be alive! Gigi Rice, who'd costarred with John Larroquette on the latter's eponymous sitcom of the early 1990s, make a significant guest appearance. In the conclusion of The Drew Carey Show's two-part Season Eight opener, Kate (Christa Miller) returns to Cleveland with the news that she is engaged to a fighter pilot named Kirk (Cameron Mathison), with whom she plans to move to Guam once they are wed. Upon discovering that Kirk has a long history of philandering, Drew (Drew Carey) vows to stop the wedding, going so far as to lock Kate in the basement. The fifth season of The Drew Carey Show ends on a zany self-referential note, as Drew Carey and his costars drop character long enough to complain that their show has never won an Emmy Award. Drew concludes that only way to even be nominated for an Emmy is to stage the "Very Special Episode" to end all "Very Special Episodes." What follows is a merry, maniacal melange of "disease of the week" infirmities befalling the cast--Oswald (Diedrich Bader) becomes a kleptomaniac, Mimi (Kathy Kinney) develops bulimia, Drew reveals that he never learned to read, etc.etc. etc.--with homeless unwed mothers, latchkey kids, impassioned speeches, tearful confessions, sudden epiphanies, incurable illnesses, miracle births and tragic deaths thrown in for good measure. Just when it seems that nothing else can possibly be jammed into the proceedings, up pops a little girl (Caitlin Alderton) addicted to pain killers--and an outrageous "Ellen" moment wherein Kate (Christa Miller) simultaneously returns from the grave and comes out of the closet! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

At long last, Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) are husband and wife. While enjoying their honeymoon in Hawaii, the newlyweds are enchanted with their tropical surroundings, so much so that they decide to never, ever return to Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Eric (Will Friedle), who has surreptitiously tagged along with the honeymooners, does all sorts of things to help them enjoy their stay in the islands--all the while managing to keep his presence a secret from them! In this third installment of the animated saga of a young brontosaurus and his pals, trouble has come to the Great Valley in the form of a meteorite. It fell just beyond the valley and now blocks the main water supply. As the land dries and thirst increases, the different species of dinosaurs who once coexisted peacefully become fractious. Suddenly Littlefoot and his friends are no longer allowed to play together. As bigotry and bickering increase, Littlefoot's gang decides that it's up to them to save the day. Since they went outside the valley in the last sequel, they know where water can be found, and though the Great Beyond is populated by tyrannosauruses and other carnivores, the youngsters know that they and their parents must take that risk in order to survive. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Suture, Scott McGehee and David Siegel's self-conscious exploration of identity and individuality, evokes a flashy remake of Edward D. Wood Jr.'s Jail Bait. Dennis Haysbert and Michael Harris play half-brothers Clay and Vincent Towers. Clay travels to Phoenix to meet with Vincent, whom he hasn't seen in years. Upon seeing one another, they are amazed at their resemblance to each other. Clay remarks, "Isn't it remarkable how much we look alike?" The problem is they look nothing alike: Clay is a black man who could pass for a Dallas Cowboys linebacker, while Vincent resembles Ralph Nader. Nevertheless, after their reunion, the characters in the film have trouble distinguishing between the two, which is good for Vincent. Responsible for a murder, Vincent decides to fake his own death by substituting Clay for himself -- since no one will notice the old switcheroo. Vincent arranges for Clay's body to be discovered in the aftermath of an automobile explosion. Then Vincent can flee and start a new life. Unfortunately for Vincent, Clay survives the accident. Swaddled in bandages and ointments, Clay is attended to by the beautiful Renee Descartes (Mel Harris), a plastic surgeon who busily reconstructs his face. At the same time, his psychiatrist Dr. Max Shimono (Sab Shimono) tries to reconstruct his memories. Before the healing process ends, Vincent tries to get to Clay and make sure that this time he really dies. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

High-concept director Robert Zemeckis applies his usual polish -- helped by an equally adept cast -- for this surprisingly gruesome and extremely funny black comedy. The film begins with narcissistic actress Madeline (Meryl Streep) stealing the latest in a series of potential fiancées, wimpy plastic surgeon Ernest (Bruce Willis), from her ex-best friend Helen (Goldie Hawn). Depressed and infuriated, Helen suffers a breakdown that lands her in a mental hospital -- in addition to a junk-food bender that seems to triple her weight. When Madeline crosses paths with Helen again many years later, she is horrified to discover her once-chunky rival looking younger, slimmer and more glamorous than ever before. Fearing that Helen will try to steal Ernest back -- and dreading the thought of not having a plastic surgeon at her beck and call -- Madeline solicits the supernatural services of an exotic New Age mystic (Isabella Rossellini), who sells her a potent youth elixir with the stipulation that she follow the dosage instructions to the letter... yeah, right. It appears that Helen owes her sexy comeback to the same magic formula, and the inevitable violent clash between the two well-dressed banshees leads to the realization that both women have become nearly impervious zombies, clawing at each other's throats long after the blood has run cold in their veins. Best remembered for Dick Smith's Oscar-winning makeup effects, which allow the rapidly-rotting undead femmes to toss off witty one-liners with ragged holes blasted through their bodies or spin their heads Exorcist-style. Not all the sight gags work, and Zemeckis' lighthearted treatment of such grotesque material tends to dull the satirical edge, but there are some truly inspired moments of dementia -- particularly a hilarious cameo from Sydney Pollack as a doctor who comes unglued while examining Streep (who has yet to realize she's dead). ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

Dan (John Larroquette) suddenly sees Phil Sanders (William Utay), the wine-sodden derelict who hangs around the courtroom as something of a general factotum, in an entirely new light after a man (Eric Christmas) who was wiped out in the S&L crisis is hauled into court. Thinking quickly, Phil saves the unfortunate man's life at the cost of his own (which would be a tragic moment if it wasn't played like something out of a "Road Runner" cartoon). It soon comes to light that Phil was no ordinary bum--certainly not as far as his former Wall Street colleagues are concerned! Good thing they told us this Jury Duty: The Comedy; we might have thought it was Jury Duty: The Term Paper. This comedy salad features a whole slew of TV luminaries--Alan Thicke, Bill Kirchenbauer, Lynn Redgrave, Heather Locklear, Tracy Scoggin, Reginald VelJohnson etc.--playing judge, jury, defenders and prosecutors in an embezzlement case. The clue as to the film's sobriety level is the fact that Bronson Pinchot plays four roles: Sanford, Arthur Lloyd, Jorge Jimenez, and Magda. Highlights include a mid-trial pizza delivery, a faulty oxygen tank, and a kid holding up a "Hi Mom" sign for the benefit of the courtroom cameras. Originally telecast in two parts, Blind Faith was adapted from a fact-based book by investigative author Joe McGinniss. The scene is Toms River, New Jersey; the year is 1984. Insurance salesman Rob Marshall (Robert Urich) informs the authorities that his wife Maria (Joanna Kerns) has been murdered by a band of marauding thieves. Marshall claims that he and his wife were ambushed at a remote picnic area, and for a while everyone believes the man. But further investigation leads to the conclusion that Maria was the victim of a murder conspiracy, fomented by Marshall himself in order collect his wife's insurance. The climactic trial forces Marshall's three teenaged sons to bear witness against their own father. But when he realizes that he's been hired only to get his senior partner's son off on a shoplifting charge, Dan accuses his new boss of bribery--whereupon he himself is charged with blackmail and threatened with disbarment! Meanwhile, Roz (Marsha Warfield) and Christine (Markie Post) agree to simultaneously go on a diet.
