Jackie Chan's son,Jaycee Chan, makes his second big screen appearance, this one opposite neophyte Asian starlet Fiona Sit, in the cross-class romance 2 Young (Cho Suk), authored by Derek Yee. The film -- Yee's sophomore effort -- is a light melodrama charting the emotional textures and ramifications of a love affair between 18-year-old underachiever Fu (Chan) and 16-year-old Nam (Sit). Fu belongs to a lower economic bracket than his paramour, but nothing could matter less to the two lovers, and when her parents head out of town on a Christmas holiday, she becomes expectant. Following in the wake of Tsui Hark's kung-fu classic Once Upon a Time in China, this low budget Taiwanese production --directed by Lee Chiu -- concerns Wang Fei-hung (Chin Kar-lok), the undisciplined slacker of son to martial arts master Wong Kei-ying. Not long after the elderly Wong dies, Fei-hung is visited by Jiubinku Kyoto (Lam Ching-ying), a Japanese kung fu ace who is on a mission to defeat every single Chinese top master. Upon learning that his rival has died, Jiubinku reacts violently, smashing the Wong's gravestone. Later, Fei-hung learns that the British have opened an opium den in the center of his town. When he breaks up the place, the British demand an apology -- something that Fei-hung would sooner die than do. He gets help from an unlikely source -- Jiubinku who does not want to see Fei-hung harmed until after they can spar. Jacqueline Ng Suet-man also appears. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide

Riding the boom of action-adventure yarns following the success of the Indiana Jones trilogy, Tsui Siu-ming spins this big-budget spectacle about really good feng shui. The film centers around a mountainous region in an Asian backwater banana republic reputed to have such good geomantic qualities that the descendents of all those buried in its earth will be blessed with fantastic fortune and good health. However, if a special ceremony is not performed on the grounds, then the luck will only last for 24 years. The film opens with a trio of Chinese Americans venturing to these mountains hoping to change their luck; Anna Wong (Moon Lee) is an executive facing a corporate meltdown, Wisely (Chin Kar-lok) is dying of brain cancer, and UCLA Prof. Chang (played by the director) is an expert in feng shui. Tin can potentate General Nguen (Yuen Wah) also has designs on the grounds -- hoping to turn his third world, fourth rate country into a superpower.
