An early miniseries effort from the Australian ABC network, The Hungry Ones was set in the 19th century. Leonard Teale and Fay Kelton starred as Will and Mary Bryant, a husband and wife who ran afoul of the law in England and were sentenced to prison. Transported to a convict colony in Australia, the Bryants elected to forget their past and attempt to start life over again -- a goal made difficult by the rough terrain of their "adopted" homeland.
