The strict reaper rules take a backseat to moving souls quickly and enjoying an existence without consequence when George and her colleagues get a new boss in this feature continuation of the cancelled television series Dead Like Me. There's a new boss in town, and that means a whole new way of operating for George and her fellow reapers. At first it seems like a blessing to see the rules relaxed a bit, but before long the gang discovers that death can be just as complicated as life. Now, while George's friends are all seduced by the allure of success, money, and fame, she makes the mistake of revealing her true identity to her living family. Whoever said death was easy, anyway? ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

The five female protagonists of DIC's animated TV series TrollZ were, indeed, trolls, with the attendant "big hair" and tiny jewel-like bodies. Living in the town of Trollzopolis, the teenaged heroines--Onyx, Topaz, Sapphire, Ruby and Amethyst--did the usually teenaged troll things for the most part, occasionally combining their unique magic skills into "The Power of 5", emulating the live-action cast of Charmed but with less serious ramifications. Of course, both the TrollZ and their friends and family members were ideally suitable for transformation into toys and action figures. Aimed at a female 6- to 16-year-old demographic, TrollZ debuted over cable's Toon Disney on September 23, 2005. For the benefit of those without cable, the series was also syndicated by DIC on a weekday basis. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Filmed under the title Breeders, the made-for-cable thriller Brother's Keeper concentrated on, as the print ads so delicately described it, "A serial killer -- a fallen cop." Throughout her life, Lucinda Pond (Jeanne Tripplehorn) has looked after and protected her younger brother Ellis (Corin Nemec), whose aberrant mental state was the result of constant abuse at the hands of his father (Brian Jensen). As an adult, Lucinda worked as a criminal investigator, while Ellis pursued a criminal career. Despite this, Lucinda continued to shelter her brother, carefully covering up for his many crimes. Fired for bungling the investigation of alleged serial killer Victor Orbin, Lucinda opens up a boat and tackle store at a remote lakeside community. Local homicide detective Travis Adler (Leland Orser) invites Lucinda to participate in another murder investigation, this one apparently perpetrated by the same killer who indirectly cost Lucinda her badge. At the same time, Ellis escapes from jail and goes off on a homicidal spree of his own, eliminating those whom he feels did his sister wrong, as well as a few abusive parents along the way. Gradually, Lucinda begins to deduce a connection between Ellis' escape and her current investigation -- but will she continue to protect her kid brother despite his murderous rampage? Brother's Keeper made its USA Network bow on January 29, 2002; it was supposed to have premiered as My Brother's Keeper, but this title was changed at the last minute to avoid confusion with the like-vintage CBS TV-movie My Sister's Keeper. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Traumatized by the death of her sister, who smashed through a loose railing and plummetted down a steep cliff, Carla Engel (Megan Ward) has developed a debilitating fear of heights. On the advice of a therapist, Carla joins a support group consisting of others suffering from acrophobia. Then, one by one, the members of the group are killed--each of them falling to his or her death. A bizarre coincidence? Or is someone deliberately, and literally, trying to literally push Carla completely over the edge? With the name Wes Craven in the film's title, that question virtually answers itself. Don't Look Down first aired October 29, 1998, on ABC. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
