Unfortunately, Gurkhan is something of an archaic Saddam Hussein: Not only has he managed to elude everyone who's ever tried to nab him, but no one is certain what he looks like, or even if those who claim to be Gurkhan are telling the truth. Someone has murdered Queen Cleopatra (Josephine Davison), and it is up to Xena (Lucy Lawless) to find the killer. Thus it is that, when a rolled-up carpet is delivered to Marc Antony (Jon Bennett), out pops Xena, alluringly disguised as the Queen of Egypt. The goddess Discord (Meighan Desmond) hopes to form a sinister triumvirate of teenage witches. As part of the plan, the witch Haleh (Katrina Browne) worms her way into the confidence of Cesca (Jodie Rimmer), the troubled daughter of one of Hercules' friends. The rampaging Cesca not only turns against Hercules (Kevin Sorbo), but also his friend Iolaus (Michael Hurst), whom she believes to be the illicit lover of her own mother. After extracting a promise from Autolycus (Bruce Campbell) not to rob the First Bank of Greece in Thracia, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) agrees to help Autolycus prevent his ex-wife, Luscious (Traci Elizabeth Lords), currently a singer at the Club Nymph-O-Mania, from holding up the bank herself. It seems that Luscious has a nasty grudge against Autolycus, and she plans to frame him for the robbery and subsequently witness his execution. In his efforts to save both Autolycus and Luscious from their own worst impulses, Hercules ends up inventing the savings-and-loan industry! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

For all intents and purposes, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys had run its course by the end of season five. Even so, the producers wanted to generate a larger syndication package, thus the program was renewed for a sixth season -- consisting of a whole eight episodes. With Hercules' traveling companion Iolaus (Michael Hurst) having returned from the dead at the end of the previous season, there is no reason for Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) not to persist in his mission to right wrongs and champion noble causes during his handful of remaining journeys. Again wandering far afield from his native Greece, the mighty muscleman finds himself in ancient Dacia (a.k.a. Transylvania) for a too-close encounter with the infamous Vlad the Impaler, and in Egypt, where Hercules saves Queen Nefertiti from an assassination attempt. Closer to home, Hercules attempts to aid King Oedipus of Crete to regain his throne from the usurping Creon and even prevents a holdup at the First Bank of Greece in Thracia. The climactic episode finds Hercules' immortal father, Zeus (formerly played by Anthony Quinn and Roy Dotrice, now enacted by Charles Keating), attempting to patch up his differences with his wife, Hera (Meg Foster), whose jealousy toward Zeus's half-human son Herc served as motivation for the entire series. As had occurred in virtually every previous episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, the 111th and final installment ends with a humorous "disclaimer," assuring the viewers that nobody was really hurt -- not even gods, demigods, or monsters -- throughout the entire six-year run, though Ancient Mythology itself was given something of a beating! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Iolaus II (Michael Hurst) offers to wed the mermaid-turned-human Nautica (Angela Dorian) to save her from marrying the evil Lysaka (Patrick Wilson), who has stolen the powerful trident belonging to Nautica's immortal father Triton (Bruce Hopkins). Meanwhile, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) is reunited with his former love, Serena (played by Sorbo's real-life wife Sam Sorbo), whose previous relationship with our hero has been inexorably altered by the events in the third-season episode "End of the Beginning." Hercules agrees to save the life of Serena's husband -- but this requires him to first come to the aid of Triton and Nautica. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) discovers that all is not well at Cheiron's academy where the upperclassmen have seized control and are running a riot. When the headmaster quits in disgust, Hercules is pressed into service as a replacement. His first task: To thwart the machination of senior cadet Zylus (Ryan Gosling) who has convinced his pals to forsake the warriors' values instilled in Hercules and other graduates, and to instead become conscienceless mercenaries. The scene is Brittania in the Middle Ages. To teach the despotic warlord Arthur of Camelot (Neill Rea) to mend his ways, Merlin the magician (Norman Forsey) sends him back 1,000 years in time. Here, the young Arthur recruits Hercules (Kevin Sorbo), who has likewise been transported to ancient Brittania by Merlin. Unfortunately, also on hand is Arthur's evil advisor, the sorceress Mab (Sara Wiseman), who is not about to relinquish her control over the "one and future king." Need it be added that the Sword Excalibur figures prominently into the outcome of the story? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This episode thrusts Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) back into the parallel universe where he and his associates exist in bizarre alter-ego form. Unless Hercules can save the Olympian Gods from this topsy-turvy universe, both the parallel and the "real" world will be destroyed. Ultimately, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) impersonates his despotic double, the Sovereign, to do battle with the evil alternate version of Nebula (Gina Torres) -- and, hopefully, to redeem the weak-kneed parallel version of his late friend Iolaus (Michael Hurst). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

While the demonic Dahak (Michael Hurst) is temporarily rendered helpless by the Gem of Creation, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) feverishly tries to exorcise the soul of his departed friend Iolaus (also Michael Hurst). Meanwhile, god of war Ares (Kevin Smith), newly transformed into a powerless mortal, is being hotly pursued by Dahak's disciples.
