This sci-fi espionage outing follows the exploits of a CIA agent as he attempts to bust out of a Russian prison with some vital plans for a new space station. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
This bizarre entry into the disaster film genre concerns a group of hapless passengers aboard a transcontinental luxury train who are infected with a viral plague by a group of terrorists. Burt Lancaster plays military man Mackenzie, who wants to send the train across a rickety bridge so all the passengers will die, with Mackenzie reasoning the tragedy will give the terrorist movement a bad name. Among the passengers on the train trying to build up antibodies are Jennifer Rispoli Chamberlain (Sophia Loren); Nicole (Ava Gardner), who is embroiled in an affair with a younger man named Robby Navarro (Martin Sheen); and Dr. Jonathan Chamberlain (Richard Harris), a physician who wants to save the passengers but ends up duking it out with the terrorists. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

- Sophia Loren, Richard Harris, (more)
Italian producer Pier A. Caminnecci went to Germany and hired British director Freddie Francis to make this vampire comedy starring his Scandinavian wife, Pia Dagermark (Elvira Madigan). The resultant international mish-mash is neither very scary nor very funny. Dagermark portrays Hollywood actress Betty Williams, who inherits a Balkan castle only to find that her grandmother (also played by Dagermark) was a vampiric witch. There is a great deal of nudity, bad jokes, cheesy visuals, and Ferdy Mayne -- star of this film's superior inspiration, Dance of the Vampires -- as a helicopter-riding Dracula. It's certainly unusual, and horror completists will want to give it a look, but most viewers will find it simultaneously ridiculous and dull, a combination found frequently in Francis' films. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi
A private detective is accused of murder when he takes up a case involving a $5 million jewel heist. ~ Iotis Erlewine, Rovi
In this exciting war drama, a hard-nosed army colonel helps to prepare French beaches for D-day using a band of convicted criminals. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
This Dino De Laurentiis-produced re-creation of the decisive Italian military operation top-bills Robert Mitchum as a battle-weary war correspondent. Robert Ryan and Arthur Kennedy play generals, Peter Falk is the lovable Brooklynese corporal, and Earl Holliman is the country-boy sergeant. Anzio was based on the book by Wynford Vaughan Thomas. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
- Starring:
- Robert Mitchum, Peter Falk, (more)
