This episode marks the first time that twin infants Jason and Kristopher Simmons are given screen credit for sharing the role of baby Wyatt. While attending a non-magical preschool, Wyatt begins talking to himself, much to the dismay of his father, Leo (Brian Krause). Although the teacher is convinced that it is perfectly normal for Wyatt to have an "imaginary friend," the child is actually in danger of being possessed by a deceptively mild-mannered demon named Vicus (Marcus Chait). In their efforts to rescue baby Wyatt, the Charmed Ones inadvertently conjure up the 25-year-old "future" Wyatt (Wesley A. Ramsey). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Paige (Rose McGowan) casts a spell to thwart the efforts by the demon Sirk (Zack Ward) to kill off all his blood relatives. Unfortunately Paige's spell works too well -- and as result, no one on earth is dying, not even those whose time has come. Angered that someone is crimping his style, the Angel of Death (Simon Templeman) "murders" Piper (Holly Marie Combs) to force the other Charmed Ones to undo Paige's damage. The Cleaners, whose job it is to erase all evidence of mortal contact with witches, try to cover up videotaped proof of Phoebe's (Alyssa Milano) and Paige's (Rose McGowan) witchcraft by framing Inspector Daryl Morris (Dorian Gregory) for murder. When the Charmed Ones try to help Daryl, they end up on trial for their lives themselves. Despite the friction between them, Leo (Brian Krause) and Chris (Drew Fuller) join forces to save Daryl and the girls. Wyatt, the son of "Charmed One" Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Whitelighter Leo (Brian Krause), is kidnapped by the Cleaners, emissaries of a neutral power force that "cleans up" the mess caused when mortals are accidentally exposed to magic. In their efforts to erase Wyatt's existence, the Cleaners also wipe out the short-term memories of Piper and her sisters, Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan). Elsewhere, Phoebe continues to have problems with her new empath powers; Paige doesn't know what she's unleashing when she uses magic as a defense mechanism against sexual harassment at the workplace; and Leo sends novice Whitelighter Chris (Drew Fuller) on an intriguing new assignment. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Still waging an internal battle between his good and evil sides, Cole (Julian McMahon) becomes convinced that a malevolent outside force is rechannelling him into committing murder. That "force" turns out to be Barbas (Billy Drago), the Demon of Fear, and an old nemesis of the Charmed Ones. Although Phoebe (Holly Marie Combs) and Piper (Alyssa Milano) steer clear of Cole's plight for fear of further strengthening Barbas, Paige (Rose McGowan) has no qualms about trying to vanquish the Demon of Fear, who in retaliation launches a campaign of psychological terror that turns the girls against one another in an extremely violent fashion. ~ All Movie Guide
