Eric Christian Olsen and Jeremy Sumpter star as brothers Randy and Skeet Dobson in this coming-of-age surfer movie from director Ron Moler. With their widowed mother working to provide for the family, Randy is left to look after 12-year-old Skeet. Despite the fact that a kid brother is a bit of a style-cramper, Randy lets Skeet tag along with him to the beach where he and his friends surf the summer days away. But trouble begins to brew when a pretty girl named Samantha (Shelby Fenner) chooses Randy over the leader of a rough-and-tumble surfer gang. Meanwhile, all is not well at home either when Skeet befriends Jim Wesley (Mark Harmon), a legendary surfer who begins a romantic relationship with the boys' mother, Jessica (Stacy Edwards), much to Randy's chagrin. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

A freewheeling animated spoof of the "hard-boiled private eye" school of fiction, Fillmore revolves around the adventures of seventh grader Cornelius Fillmore, a safety monitor in an extremely accident-prone middle school. Under the guidance of safety chief Vellejo, and with the help of sidekick Ingrid Third, Fillmore wages endless war against those who would despoil the sacred walls of learning with graffiti, or who would leave oil-soaked rags in the vicinity of matches, or who would operate a baseball-card black market threatening the financial well-being of his fellow students. As in most cartoon series of the era, this one abounds in pop-culture spoofs, notably a Silence of the Lambs takeoff involving a grafitti artist who'd been sentenced to permanent detention. Tired of being taunted by their snotty peers, three misfit students at Our Lady of Hope Senior High conspire to get even by blowing up the school. Overhearing these plans, teacher Sister Mary Theodore (Mary McDonnell) tries to stop the boys, only to be shot and wounded for her troubles! This, plus the omnipresence of Angel of Death Andrew (John Dye), does not seem to bode well for the students or the school. The OR staff has its hands full with the victims of a spectacular car crash caused by flagrantly careless driver Bob Seibert. In the course of events, it is revealed that Seibert is a drug abuser, wife beater and all-around louse--and he is also in desperate need of a liver transplant. Ironically, the perfect donor turns out to be the very man whom Seibert killed on the road, placing the surgical interns smack in the middle of a major ethical dilemma. Elsewhere, George (T.R. Knight) is forced to work side by side with the same nurse who gave him syphillis; Webber (James Pickens Jr.) gets what-for from his wife (Loretta Devine) for having brain surgery without her knowledge; Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina (Sandra Oh) do their best to lose themselves in their work and forget their romantic travails; and we finally find out the reason for the rift between Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Addison (Kate Walsh). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
