An unemployed homeless man who once turned to God for the answers to life's problems decides to share the information he received with the rest of the world by penning a series of best-selling books, and now his remarkable story comes to the screen in a biographical drama from producer/director Stephen Simon. There was a time when Donald Walsch (Henry Czerny) had no place to go and no one to turn to, but that all changed when he directed the hardest questions he had ever asked at the entity many view as the be-all and end-all of human existence. The answers that he received would not only change his life, but the lives of millions of readers as well. An unlikely spiritual messenger whose works subsequently sold over seven million copies and translated into thirty-four languages, Walsch's remarkable tale finally comes to the big screen courtesy of the producer behind such spiritual-centric films as What Dreams May Come and Indigo. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Based on an actual incident at the University of Virginia Medical Center, this made-for-TV drama stars Melissa Gilbert and Rosanna Arquette as Sarah and Linda, two expectant mothers who give birth on the same day in the same hospital. It is not until 18 months after the two women had contentedly gone home with the babies that a DNA test proves the infants were switched at birth thanks to a hospital snafu. Although Sarah and Linda both elect to keep the babies that they've grown to love, they reach an unusual compromise that has profound (and not entirely positive) effects on their respective families and friends -- leading, inevitably, to a heated courtroom battle. Originally telecast by CBS under the title Two Babies: Switched at Birth on November 24, 1999, the film has since been released to video as Mistaken Identity. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The parents of a healthy baby boy, Brian and Donna McDermott (Scott Reeves, Martha Byrne) are stunned and grief-stricken when the child vanishes. Making matters worse, the authorities are convinced that Brian and Donna are themselves responsible for their baby's disappearance. Perhaps those same authorities would be better served if they bothered to check out those somewhat shady employees at the local maternity hospital, notably duplicitous receptionist Joan Hollins (Cathy Lee Crosby) -- who in turn is very close with the attorney (Linda Gray) who represents an adoption services that provides newborn white infants to infertile couples...no questions asked. When the Cradle Falls originally aired March 4, 1997, on CBS. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
