In the first episode of a three-part story, Hunter (Fred Dryer) and McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) are ordered to participate in a police task force to curb a recent upsurge in urban violence. McCall goes undercover as a phy-ed instructor at a tough neighborhood school, replacing a teacher who has been murdered. Congregating at a French restaurant, the A-Team is reunited with Lin Duk Coo (Mako), formerly the cook at the Vietnamese POW camp where they'd been imprisoned during the war. Naturally, Lin is in desperate need of the team's help, thanks to the villainous machinations of the prison camp's sadistic former commandant General Chow (John Fujioka), who, in league with traitorous ex-soldier Tom Anderson (Marjoe Gortner), is currently smuggling heroin into the country. Through some freakish glitch in the time-space continuum, Magnum (Tom Selleck) awakens in the year 1936. Despite this bizarre displacement, he's still a private eye, and he's still very much for hire. In fact, his latest client is Brenda McCutchen (Anne Lockhart), whose labor-leader father has been framed for the murder of an evil industrialist. Playing the "30s" angle to the hilt, the episode is stylishly written and directed in the manner of an old Warner Bros. detective film, and the familiar Magnum PI characters conform to Depression-era sensibilities: Magnum speaks fluent "Dashiel Hammett", Higgins (John Hillerman) is a Noel Coward-ish bon vivant, and so on. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Never at a loss for sneaky schemes, Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) has come up with "foolproof" scheme to rob an armored truck from his own bank. Seeking to frame Luke (Tom Wopat) and Bo (John Schneider) for the crime, Boss hires a pair of impostors (Robin Strand, Morgan Woodard) and fixes them up with "Duke" face masks--and to top it off, he arranges for the phonies to make their getaway in an exact replica of the "General Lee." Strand's assignment ends almost before it begins when she is targeted for assassination by the Mob.
