"The Naval Treaty" is an episode of the television series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, an superb adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes mystery stories, produced in Britain for Granada TV. In this episode directed by Alan Grint, Jeremy Brett portrays the famed detective aided by his companion Dr. Watson (David Burke). Holmes helps the very ill Percy Phelps (David Gwillim) find an important treaty that was entrusted to his care and stolen. This episode, written by Jeremy Paul, is one of the more famous Holmes stories, and his faithfulness to the original published version in the Strand Magazine during the late 19th century is exceptional. This series was followed by several sequels, as well as a few feature-length TV movie adaptations. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi

Just in time for the final episode of Blakes 7, the titular Roj Blake (Gareth Thomas) makes a return appearance. The Scorpio crew has crash-landed on Guardia Prime, where Blake is reportedly ekeing out a living as a bounty hunter. Convinced that Blake has sold the crew out to the Federation, Avon (Paul Darrow) kills his former comrade -- or so it seems. As usual, this season-ender concludes with a cliffhanger, wherein the crew finds itself in a seemingly inescapable death trap. Alas, since the series was not renewed, it is left to conjecture as to how the heroes manage to escape. "Blake" was originally telecast on December 21, 1981. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In the far distant future, the Earth and its space colonies are under the dictatorial rule of the Federation, which uses everything from physical torture to mind-controlling drugs to keep the populace under its thumb. Among the Federation's "perfect" citizens is Roj Blake (Gareth Thomas), whose memories of his previous life as a freedom fighter have been obliterated by the authorities. Upon recovering his full mental capacities and learning his true identity, Blake agrees to lead a revolt against the Federation -- only to be framed on a phony child-molestation charge and sentenced to the prison planet Cygnus Alpha. While onboard the prison transport vessel, Blake meets two fellow "outlaws" -- smuggler Jenna Stannis (Sally Knivette) and safecracker Vila Restal (Michael Keating) -- who are destined to join him in a bold escape attempt. Thus, with the episode titled "The Way Back," began the BBC1 TV run of Blakes 7 on January 2, 1978. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
