The discovery of a comatose woman leads to a wealth of unforeseen complications, including the possible framing of an innocent person. The prosecution must rely upon DNA to prove its case -- but there may be unethical procedures afoot. It all boils down to a perplexing paradox: Is the woman in the coma a victim, or is she in fact a perpetrator? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
David Goldberg co-directed (with cast member Allie Dvorin) and scripted this low-budget, black-and-white comedy-drama providing a glimpse into the lives of buyers and sellers cornered in the hard-edge cornices of Manhattan's equally hard-bargain real estate environs. The twentysomething brokers at Fopir Realty have to stay on their toes, since both owners and customers constantly look for loopholes, opportunities to evade paying commissions. The film features a first-person cinematic device as characters deliver revelations and rationalizations directly into the camera before returning to the more conventional narrative plot threads. At 71 minutes, this film falls slightly short of the usual feature-length running time. Shown at the 1997 Hollywood Film Festival. ~ Bhob Stewart, All Movie Guide

The venerable character actor Lance Henriksen plays an archetypically Machiavellian leader of bad cyborgs in this sci-fi action drama. Country-western staple Kris Kristofferson co-stars as Gabriel, a good cyborg who teams up with a sexy kick-boxer named Nia (Kathy Long) to fight the robots and their evil leader. Monument Valley, Utah, doubles as the film's dystopic, Mad Max-style wasteland. ~ Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide
Four years after Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Ralph Bakshi tapped into the live action mixed with cell animated world in this adult-themed production telling the story of an edgy comic book artist who crosses the line into his own cartoon universe. The story begins with a prologue in postwar Las Vegas, where Vegas cop Frank Harris (Brad Pitt) is catapulted into the cartoon Cool World after crashing his motorcycle. The Cool World is a jive-animated parallel dimension created by animator Jack Deebs (Gabriel Byrne). Among Jack's many creations is the knock-out broad Holli Would (Kim Basinger). Holli wants to become human -- or a "noid" in Cool World parlance. So, she compels Jack to fall into his own cartoon void where her attempts to seduce him could have grave consequences for both the animated and the "real" world. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

John Hughes and Chris Columbus repeat their best-selling formula from the first Home Alone film with this sequel. Once again Kevin McCallister's (Macaulay Culkin) family leave him behind, only now he gets on a flight to New York instead of going with his family to Miami. Kevin manages to hail a cab and is delivered to the doorsteps of the Plaza Hotel, where, using his father's credit card, he rents out a suite and has the time of his life -- although a smarmy hotel clerk (Tim Curry) and bellboy (Rob Schneider) eye him with suspicion. But ingenious Kevin keeps them at bay, using the same tomfoolery he applied to his uncle in the first picture. He takes time out from his consumer debauch to chat with a friendly old toy-store magnate (Eddie Bracken) and pontificate to a homeless Pigeon Lady (Brenda Fricker) on the meaning of Christmas. But then he runs into his old enemies Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern). When he finds out that they plan on robbing the old man's toy store on Christmas Eve, he mans the battle stations once again, complete with electric prods, flames of fire, and sundry blunt instruments. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

This sci-fi/horror sequel is set in the 21st century where the human race has been decimated by a man-made plague. Most of the normal survivors now live underground while the Earth's surface is populated by terrifying mutants. The survivors have developed a plague vaccine, but must gather the ingredients upon the dangerous surface. This version opens at the Rocky Mountain Lab, where they have run out of the vaccine and people are getting sick. A few days earlier they sent David Pennington topside to gather more ingredients. Unfortunately he has disappeared. The lead scientist then sends out three people to find David, but instead they end up tangling with a mutant. One of their party is killed. During the scuffle, they manage to cut off one of the creature's fingers and bring it back for research. Meanwhile, David wanders the desert world and meets the beautiful, pregnant Ariel, with whom he falls in love. Just before making it down to safety, the two are attacked by the mutants and one of them rapes her. When she eventually gives birth, her baby is terribly deformed. Meanwhile the finger regenerates into a new mutant horror and now with two of the dreadful creatures to deal with, things look bleak. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
