Judith Hoag Movies

Judith Hoag may be most well known for playing April O'Neil in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in 1990, but the adventurous actress wracked up long list of appearances in countless other projects both before and after that role, pursuing her interest in performing, rather than in fame. Hoag was raised in Massachusetts, where she got involved in local and school theater when she was just 13. By the time she was out of high school, she was ready to move to New York and start her career. She began playing guest roles on TV shows and in commercials, and this would prove to be the kind of work that would sustain her career for years to come. In addition to her memorable role in the Ninja Turtles movie, Hoag would go on to appear in one or two episodes of Roseanne, Murder, She Wrote, Mad About You, Melrose Place, The X-Files, ER, Carnivàle, Big Love, and many, many more. In addition to her many TV appearances, Hoag continued to act in commercials, selling everything from restaurants to copy machines. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi

Another Americanization of a popular British TV series, Life is Wild was inspired by the BBC comedy-drama Wild at Heart. D.W. Moffett headed the cast as New York-based veterinarian Danny Clarke, who on little more than a whim relocated himself, his second wife Jo (Stephanie Niznik) and their four children (two from his first marriage, two from hers) to a new home in South Africa. The Clarke family reconnoitered at the Blue Antelope, a game preserve and safari lodge run by Danny's crusty father-in-law Art (David Butler) (his daughter was Danny's late first wife). Though the kids thought that Danny was crazy, wife Jo did her best to be supportive, using her skills as a lawyer to help rebuild the Blue Antelope into a thriving concern, despite stiff competition from a newer, more tourist-friendly lodge owned by Art's rival Colin Banks (Jeremy Sheffield). The rest of the characters included Danny's level-headed daughter Katie (Leah Pipes) and his frisky son Chase (K'sun Ray; Jo's rebellious son Jesse (Andrew St. John) and sports-nut daughter Mia (Mary Matilyn); Colin Banks' twin children, handsome-hunk son Oliver (Jeremy Sheffield) and drop-dead-gorgeous daughter Emily (Tiffany Mulheron); Tumelo (Atandwa Kani), a local teenager who aspired to become a veterinarian himself; and singer-bartender Mbali (Precious Kofi), for whose attentions Jesse and Tumelo carried on a friendly competition. Filmed on location in South Africa, Life is Wild debuted October 7, 2007 on CW, in the Sunday-night timeslot formerly occupied by Seventh Heaven. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In the conclusion of a two-part story, things are sunny indeed (at least temporarily)for Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Burke (Isaiah Washington), but things don't look so good for George's cancer-patient father (George Dzundza); even so, this medical crisis serves to bring George and Callie closer together. Elsewhere, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has harsh words for Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and even harsher ones for her estranged father Thatcher Grey (Jeff Perry). Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is none too thrilled when she is forced to keep a secret. And the money for Heather's operation is provided by an anonymous source (Hint: which of the series' characters has just come into a multimillion-dollar inheritance?) ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

They come up with one man, Ernest Holloway (John Ingle), who hasn't been given a new wife in over ten years. Petersen), Nick (George Eads), and Warrick (Gary Dourdan) investigate, two interesting facts come to light: the victim was not robbed, and he was in the neighborhood for a definite purpose. Across town, another body is found stuffed in a tire in an auto junkyard. At first, Sara (Jorja Fox) and Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) assume that the heavily made-up victim was a transvestite. Anderson), on Management's orders, has them set up shop in the middle of nowhere. Jonesy (Tim DeKay) expresses his reservations, and offers to talk to Management himself, but Samson says no. While the crew sets up, Samson has Osgood (Blake Shields) drive him into town so he can see Miss Jolene (Judith Hoag), a prostitute with whom he has a special relationship. Sofie (Clea Duvall) goes into town herself, despite Apollonia's (Diane Salinger) protestations, and puts on an act, pretending to be a young widow, which earns her the sympathetic ear of Harlan (Gabriel Mann), the handsome proprietor of a local diner. Lodz (Patrick Bauchau) convinces Ben (Nick Stahl) to drive him out into the desert, claiming he wants to show him something that has to do with Scudder. All of them are caught in a deadly dust storm. In the ensuing chaos, Apollonia nearly chokes to death, Samson learns that his relationship with Jolene isn't all he thinks it is, and Sofie gets far more intimate with Harlan than she had intended. Lodz wanders from the safety of the car and into the desert, and when Ben follows him, Lodz demonstrates that Ben is even more powerful than he suspected and offers to help him learn how to use his power, but Ben isn't interested in using it. Heavenly caseworker Monica (Roma Downey) continues to work hand in glove with her celestial supervisor Tess (Della Reese) and gentle Angel of Death Andrew (John Dye) to save the souls of earthly mortals, or at the very least to change their lives for the better, as Touched by an Angel begins its seventh season. New to the proceedings is novice angel Gloria (Valerie Bertinelli), who joins the cast in an episode originally telecast on May 6, 2001. Just as Tess has been providing wisdom, guidance and moral support to Monica during the past six seasons, so too does Monica become the mentor of the shy and somewhat awkward Gloria as she tries to do Heaven's work on Earth. Making return appearances this year are streetwise angel Rafael (Alexis Cruz), as well as Adam (Charles Rocket), the Angel of Death whom Andrew effectively replaced at the beginning of season two. Also, actor Ray Walston makes his final TV guest appearance in the season opener "The Face on the Barroom Floor," telecast three months before his death. Other prominent performers appearing guest roles this season include Robert Loggia, as a 102-year-old movie director in "Restoration;" Bonnie Franklin (who coincidentally played the mother of Valerie Bertinelli on TV's One Day at a Time) as a harried foreperson of a murder-trial jury in "Reasonable Doubt;" onetime juvenile actor Scott Baio as a hardnosed narcotics cop in "A Death in the Family;" and Mandy Patinkin as an enigmatic motorist in "Netherlands." Season seven concludes with the two-part "Shallow Water," in which Monica, having passed an important milestone in her celestial career, is awarded by god with a special gift: to see humans "from the inside out," enabling her to instantly realize how everything in those persons' lives -- good or bad -- has profoundly altered their present. ~ Rovi

Michael Bay (The Rock) directed this science fiction action thriller in the When Worlds Collide tradition. It's destroyed by a secret USA defense in space, but a large chunk veers off toward Singapore. With another asteroid "the size of Texas" en route, a plan is devised to send oil drillers to land on the asteroid and drop a nuclear device down a 1000-foot shaft, a scheme calculated to crack the asteroid into two halves, saving Earth.
