A group of former government assassins fights back against the CIA after they're targeted for knowing too much in this adaptation of Warren Ellis' acclaimed DC Comics graphic novels. Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) used to be a hired gun for the CIA. Along with Joe (Morgan Freeman), Marvin (John Malkovich), and Victoria (Helen Mirren), Frank's specialty was carrying out contracts that the government didn't want the public to know about. These days, Frank and his old gang are all retired, but the powers that be are still concerned that they know too much, and dispatch a team of top assassins to ensure their silence. Now, Frank and his former team members realize that their only hope for survival is to break into CIA headquarters and expose the truth. But once they're in, the group uncovers evidence of a massive cover-up that promises to rock the very foundation of our government. Karl Urban, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, and Ernest Borgnine co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A brilliant chemist driving down an lonely stretch of Ozark highway stops to pick up a pretty young girl, only to become hopelessly drawn into a deadly scheme involving her violent, drug-manufacturing boyfriend in this thriller from first-time director Kristopher Hardy. Toby (Lance Lee Davis) could have been working on some of the most advanced projects in the world of science, but instead he has chosen to become a high school teacher. One night, while cruising down the Ozark highway, Toby spots a pretty girl named Laurie (Brooke Anderson) whose car appears to have broken down. Little does Toby realize that Laurie's in greater danger than he could ever imagine: Not only is Laurie on the run from the authorities, but her volatile boyfriend Jeff (Lawrence Turner) is hot on her trail as well. Somewhere down the road, Toby and Laurie spot Jeff on the side of the road and pull over to puck him up. Now, with Laurie as his grudging accomplice, Jeff kidnaps Toby and takes him to an isolated farm. Once there, Jeff informs his captor that he will use his knowledge to create a substantial amount of synthetic heroin so that Jeff can pay off a sizable bedt to some dangerous Bolivian traffickers. Should Toby continue in his refusal to cooperate, he'll be framed for the murder of his ex-wife Annette (Dawn Balkin). When Laurie goes missing, Annette stands her ground, and the Bolivians show up to collect, an already volatile situation suddenly reaches critical mass. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

One commonality that seems to link every modern war is that soldiers almost invariably write their families and loved ones on a regular basis and their correspondence covers a broad range of human emotions -- funny camp stories, reassurances to worried folks at home, confessions of fear, anxieties about the dangers of the battlefield, and prescient goodbyes from fighting men and women who know they may never return. American Experience: War Letters -- Stories of Courage, Longing and Sacrifice is a documentary produced for PBS which follows America's history in armed conflict through the letters written home by men and women in uniform. American Experience: War Letters features readings from a cast of distinguished performers, including Joan Allen, Edward Norton, Bill Paxton, Giovanni Ribisi, David Hyde Pierce, and many more. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

After the tragic sacrifice of Doyle (Glenn Quinn) (see "Hero"), Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and Angel (David Boreanaz) deal with the emotional fallout of their friend's death. Soon, Cordelia learns of a strange side effect of the final kiss Doyle gave her: She is now experiencing the same painful visions he used to. Shortly thereafter, a telepathic demon named Barney (Maury Sterling) shows up at the office looking for protection from an assassin. Angel leaves Cordelia with Barney and heads out to investigate. Soon, he learns that the assassin is none other than Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Alexis Denisof), who briefly served as Watcher for Buffy and Faith (see Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Bad Girls") and is now a self-styled "rogue demon hunter." Angel learns that Wesley isn't hunting Barney; he's actually hunting a Kungai demon who wants to steal Barney's powers. But as the plot thickens, it turns out that Barney himself is actually the thief -- and that he's trying to auction off Cordelia for her newfound powers. A Wolfram & Hart lawyer wins the prize, but Wesley and Angel arrive just in time to save Cordy from being turned against her will into a blind oracle. Originally broadcast December 14, 1999, on the WB network, "Parting Gifts" marked season one, episode ten of the supernatural comedy drama. Although he's billed as a guest star for this episode, Alexis Denisof joins the cast permanently beginning with the next installment, "Somnambulist." ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi
