On the run from both Lt. Gerard (Barry Morse) and a rural sheriff (Dabbs Greer), Kimble (David Janssen) ends up on a patch of land controlled by a family of murderous moonshiners. The Sheriff refuses to venture any further in their pursuit of Kimble, warning Gerard of terrible consequences should he cross the path of Tully (R.G. Armstrong), the family's brutish patriarch. When Tully's daughter Elvy (Sharon Farrell) is found beaten, Gerard is falsely accused of the crime, kidnapped, and subjected to a kangaroo court. Having won the family's trust by saving the life of eldest son Cody (Bruce Dern), Kimble is now the only person capable of preventing the "execution" of his worst enemy. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

An isolated peach farm is the setting for this nail-biting episode, in which Teresa Wright is cast as Stella, the young wife of bucolic farm owner Emery (Pat Buttram). When Emery hires a sinister-looking farmhand named Jesse (Bruce Dern), Stella is apprehensive -- especially since Jesse seems to have a morbid fascination with knives. Emery, however, refuses to fire Jesse, possibly because he is too frightened to do so. Things come to a head late one night when Jesse attacks Stella, who is unable to summon help because Emery has fallen into a deep sleep -- or has he? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Robert Wagner stars as insensitive Southern landowner who gets a much-overdue dose of humility and democracy when he's drafted into the army. Unable to curb his arrogance, Wagner runs afoul of a sadistic military officer (Broderick Crawford), who makes it his mission in life to break the recalcitrant recruit. After rescuing a fellow soldier (Buddy Ebsen), Wagner discovers he has the inner strength to change his outlook on life, and to stand up to the vicious Crawford. Based on a novel by Francis I. Gwaltney, Between Heaven and Hell features uncredited appearances by Frank Gorshin, Scatman Crothers, and Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
